Friend, if your mood has been in the toilet lately, NO ONE could blame you.

And you’re not alone.

We’ve been going through some of the most challenging times that we’ll ever face in our lifetimes – overcoming the types of obstacles that we thought we’d only ever hear about from our parents and grandparents.

From health concerns… to financial troubles… to social isolation… and more…

The world has gotten downright depressing… and anxiety-provoking!

And it’s totally normal to feel “down”… or “blue”… or just plain ol’ STRESSED OUT.

But if your mood had taken a hit even BEFORE March 2020… before everything around us changed and RATTLED us to the core…

And it’s not getting better, even as things seem to improve around you…

There might be something else going on.

A doc might try to describe a mood med for you to help you feel better – but that might be the equivalent of slapping a band-aid onto a far deeper wound!

Turns out, there could be a HIDDEN culprit making your mood take a turn for the worse.

It’s something a “shrink” would NEVER look for…

And you might find it a little SHOCKING yourself.

The mood-mouth connection

You’ve read before right here in eAlert how there’s a secret villain that too often goes UNDETECTED when it comes to brain issues like memory loss… and even full-blown dementia.

And it’s that SAME troublemaker that can bring your mood down to the LOWEST depths!

I’m talking about gum disease.

That’s right – what’s going on in your mouth has A LOT to do with what happens in your brain!

And that’s something that mood meds just can’t TOUCH.

According to a new study out of the University of Birmingham, folks with gingivitis and periodontitis (a.k.a. severe gum disease that leads to tooth loss) are MORE likely to develop depression… anxiety…

And even SEVERE mental illness!

At the beginning of the 3-year study, folks with a history of gum disease were associated with a 37% increased risk in mental health issues!

That study also found a link between gum disease and autoimmune disorders…

And previous research has also revealed the connection between gum disease and heart issues… and even cancer.

Now, some folks have gum disease that’s VERY far gone… and their options may be limited to just managing the symptoms.

But other folks have MILDER… more ACUTE cases of gum disease…

And their issues could be REVERSED with the right dental care.

You know you’ve got to brush and floss every day… and see the dentist regularly for cleanings…

But you may want to look into OTHER ways of supporting your gum health…

Like natural mouthwashes (triclosan-free, of course)… oil-pulling… probiotics… and more.
