Turns out I was wrong about that big Alzheimer’s drug that won quick approval over the summer.

It’s not as BAD as I thought it would be.

It’s WORSE!

The FDA gave rapid approval to the $56,000-a-year drug aducanumab (a.k.a. Aduhelm) despite the fact that… It FLUNKED 2 major studies so badly, they were cut short.

The FDA’s own panel voted 8-1 AGAINST approving it.

There are MAJOR questions over both safety and effectiveness .

The (few) people who believe in this drug CLAIMED it would be vindicated as more data emerged.

Well, friend, some of that data is now out.

And it’s a vindication all right… but not for the drug.

It’s a vindication for the FDA panel that voted AGAINST it!

Scary new risks linked to dementia drug

You expect side effects with any drug.

What you DON’T expect is for the drug to really SCREW with the ONE part of the body it’s supposed to protect…

In this case, causing your brain to swell like a rotten piece of fruit until the blood oozes out.

Gross?

Yes. Very. But a new report finds that in a clinical trial for the new Alzheimer’s drug aducanumab, 41% of patients suffered brain swelling and bleeding.

The company claims it was “mild” or “moderate” in MOST patients… who largely recovered.

But not EVERYBODY got off scot-free.

There was also one death in a patient who suffered a seizure after developing the brain swelling. It’s currently under investigation… with one biotech analyst saying “this is likely to have been caused by aducanumab,” according to The New York Times.

Now, I will give the drug some credit… because it DID accomplish one thing.

It proved that there IS such a thing as bad publicity!

Aducanumab has received SO MUCH negative press that it MISSED its sales target for the quarter by about 98%.

Put another way, they only did about 2% of their expected sales.

That’s practically CRUSHED the company… which is reportedly set to lay off about 1,000 workers…

Making it perhaps the first drug company ever to face disaster not because the feds DIDN’T approve their med.

It’s because they DID!

So, the drug’s a dud… but that DOESN’T mean that dementia is HOPELESS.

If you have a loved one with suspected dementia… or are in decline yourself and are worried about your own risk…

Talk to your doctor about two things:

Your meds: Many dementia-like cases are actually side effects, or the effects of combined drugs… especially meds with known brain effects such as anticholinergic drugs. Talk to your doc about replacing and/or eliminating any suspects to see if there’s any improvement.

Your health: There are a number of “false” dementias such as chronic Lyme that are no picnic, but much more easily treated once spotted. Some conventional docs will scoff at this. If your own isn’t taking this possibility seriously, consult with a naturopathic medical doctor.

In addition, get back to basics with your diet… and I mean VERY basic.

Eat only fresh and organic foods with ZERO chemicals, preservatives and the like to ELIMINATE as many toxins as possible.

And don’t forget brain-boosting nutrients such as ginkgo biloba, phosphatidylserine, high-dose intravenous vitamin C, NAC, ALA, and more.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
