Folk medicine ‘tea trick’ sends UTIs packing
Folk medicine ‘tea trick’ sends UTIs packing
It’s one of the PESKIEST afflictions of seniors — especially older gals.
I’m talking about urinary tract infections, or UTIs for short.
You’ve got to KILL the bacteria causing the infection… but don’t stop there.
Because if you don’t keep your pee moving through your urinary system and out of your body… you’ll just get reinfected over and over again.
Problem is, the ONLY solution offered by the mainstream is to take antibiotics…
Which often DON’T resolve the infection.
And the MORE you take antibiotics… the more it contributes to antibiotic resistance.
Don’t worry – I’m not about to leave you empty-handed.
Because I’ve got a “home cure” for UTIs that’s supported by AGES of traditional use.
And it’s so commonplace… it’s something that you might’ve OVERLOOKED in the past!
Greater than a garnish
The Mediterranean herb parsley (Petroselinum crispum) deserves a closer look…
And not just because of its powerful effect on mood or blood pressure.
In fact, its diuretic effects… which help this herb BEAT BACK hypertension… are what make parsley a “go-to” herb for urinary complaints in folk medicine.
And they also help FLUSH OUT the bugs that cause UTIs!
The key is parsley’s content of an antioxidant called apigenin – also known for its RELAXING effects.
You’ll also find SOME apigenin in chamomile…
But parsley contains exponentially MORE apigenin than any other edible plant!
It also offers anti-inflammatory effects… which are also ESSENTIAL for clearing out UTIs.
And apigenin also KILLS bacteria directly – which may be why parsley has shown the ability to ERADICATE one of the primary culprits behind UTIs, E. coli.
Study subjects with UTIs have experienced BETTER urination and LESS pain after consuming parsley.
That comes as no surprise… considering that traditional medicine also relies on parsley for its pain-relieving powers.
You can find parsley leaf extract and parsley seed oil in capsule or loose powdered form at your local health food store or online.
A researched dose is 500 mg, 2X daily.
You can also DRINK parsley in a refreshing, detoxifying juice… but any added sugar will only make your UTI worse.
Another option is to drink unsweetened parsley tea – which is the traditional folk remedy.
