Resuming your doc visits? WATCH OUT for this ‘surgery swindle’
One of the ugliest tricks of retail… one used to HOODWINK consumers into making overpriced purchases they don’t want or need…
Isn’t LIMITED to the big box stores, appliance shops and auto dealers.
Not anymore, at least.
It’s now part of your medical care!
A new warning finds that some facilities are PUSHING patients into PRICEY procedures to PAD profits.
That could leave you in pain… physically, emotionally, and maybe even financially…
As you SUFFER the toll of unnecessary treatment.
It could even leave you BATTLING lifelong side effects.
But today I’ve got what they hope you NEVER learn…
And that’s a quick and easy way to check up on them to see if they’re trying to pull this con on you.
Check the hospital for THIS… BEFORE your surgery!
You’d THINK that a year of the healthcare system supposedly stretched to capacity from the pandemic would mean they’re rolling in dough right now.
In reality, much of the medical industry took A MASSIVE HIT… as patients AVOIDED non-urgent medical procedures.
Hospitals lost more than $22 billion on delayed or canceled elective procedures — and no doubt billions MORE on procedures that were never even considered in the first place because of everyone DITCHING their in-person appointments.
Now that things are opening back up again… they wanna make up for lost time…
And lost cash.
So, if you’ve got an achy knee… a sore back… a hip that just ain’t quite right… or even a minor-ish cardiovascular issue that would’ve been a wait-and-see thing not too long ago…
You can bet they’re SIZING YOU UP for surgery the moment you walk back in the door!
One new study shows how this was already a MASSIVE problem even before the pandemic.
Data from 2016-2018 finds that an American senior gets an unnecessary treatment every 80 seconds, including:
- arthroscopic knee surgery, a.k.a. “cleaning out” the knee… which almost NEVER leads to improvements in joint pain (unless there is a very specific injury)
- carotid artery imaging or EGG for fainting and/or headaches… which aren’t needed in most cases (unless there’s a stroke or some other more concerning history)
- coronary artery stents, which DO NOT improve outcomes in stable heart disease, and · vertebroplasty (a.k.a. “cementing” the spine for back pain) and spinal fusion, neither of which help in most cases of back pain.
This isn’t medicine.
It’s EXPLOITATION… plain and simple!
The organization that did the study even found that some hospitals are WAY pushier than others when it comes to these unneeded procedures. They’ve ranked the best and worst right here.
But in reality… wherever you’re getting treated… always take a “time out” before agreeing to ANY procedure.
Read up on what it is… what it’s supposed to do… and what the risks and benefits are…
Especially for your age.
Then, take another step…
Get a second option, ideally one from a skilled naturopathic medical doctor who’s not only wise to these scams… but who can also help solve whatever your issue is without surgery or medication.
