You’ve been in the garden soaking in that vitamin D-boosting sunshine

And man, it’s felt good.

But a couple hours in, everything might start to seem a little fuzzy around the edges.

You might lose track of your progress in weeding… or forget where you’ve planted those new seeds.

We all get distracted now and then…

But when your attention is WANING… even when doing something you LOVE

It can feel a little alarming.

Friend, it MAY NOT be time to hit the panic button just yet…

Because I’ve got a trick to help you figure out whether those lapses are FLEETING… or something more serious to be concerned about.

Down the hatch

If you’ve been outside enjoying the weather as it’s started to warm up… now that it’s officially spring…

HOURS could pass within the blink of an eye.

And whether you’re working in the yard… or hitting the links… you could start to feel your concentration FADING.

If that happens to you, there’s something you should do before breaking out the power tools… or heading to the next hole in your golf cart.

Drink some water!

A 2018 meta-analysis out of the Georgia Institute of Technology found that as your body becomes DEPLETED of hydration… it can also DRAIN your brain!

And a 2019 study out of Penn State University found that older gals are at a greater risk than their male counterparts.

But there’s good news…

Because AVOIDING the common mistake of getting dehydrated… especially in the heat, when you may be sweating… could help you RETAIN your mental sharpness.

And that’s especially important during ANY activity where you might be operating heavy machinery… like driving on long road trips

Or even performing repetitive, monotonous work!

Even if your mouth doesn’t FEEL parched, the rest of your body… including your brain… could be DRYING OUT.

So, don’t wait until you’re thirsty to keep that H2O flowing.

But fortunately, even if you do LOSE more water than you drink… and you’ve already started to feel the cognitive effects

You can REPLENISH your supplies to REVERSE COURSE!

Now, don’t let this risk keep you from getting outside and moving around…

Because another 2019 study found that even just 20 minutes of low-intensity activity like gardening can help increase levels of 2 proteins that help BEEF UP your brain.

I’m talking about brain-derived neurotrophic-factor (BDNF) and platelet-derived growth-factor (PDGF).

That’s what helps PRESERVE the integrity of your brain cells and tissue… and helps KEEP your brain from SHRINKING!

You don’t need to guzzle down HUGE amounts of water – because that’s something that could actually have the OPPOSITE effect on your brain.

Instead, just keep that bottle of filtered or spring water handy… and take a few sips as you go throughout the course of your activity.

To keeping your brain from DRYING OUT,

Melissa Young
