Could the secret to STAYING young be found… in a steakhouse?
They say that 60 is the new 40…
Because seniors today are looking YOUNGER… feeling FITTER… and staying STRONGER… more than the generations before us ever thought possible.
Remember how OLD your grandparents used to seem? They probably FELT that way, too.
But your generation is different.
Aging doesn’t have to get the best of you.
With the latest science on your side, you can splash around in the fountain of youth with all the gusto of someone who’s a FRACTION of your age!
Sound like a fantasy?
Well, here’s one way you can try it out for yourself.
Strong and sturdy
If you want to remain strong and independent… well into your “golden years”…
I hope you like red meat.
Because a nice juicy steak… a pot roast… or really any slab of grass-fed beef could be the key to DEFYING age-related muscle loss and weakness…
Not to mention helping your risk of falls PLUMMET.
It’s not just the protein content of red meat that can keep muscle wasting (a.k.a. sarcopenia) from taking hold… and keep muscle function from DETERIORATING.
There’s also an age-reversing fatty acid – one that you should definitely get to know if you’re getting “up there” in years.
It’s called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA).
It’s related to linoleic acid… an anti-aging component of baobab, argan oil, and more.
CLA’s molecular structure is just a bit more complicated than linoleic acid…
Which means it can help your skin retain moisture… and SO much more.
In an animal study out of the University of Texas, mice that were fed CLA experienced…
- MORE muscle mass
- BETTER cellular energy production (ATP) and mitochondrial function
- HIGHER levels of antioxidant enzymes, and
- REDUCED oxidative stress.
In fact, CLA appeared to help study subjects “bounce back” from muscle damage… helping them REPAIR and RECOVER with nothing standing in their way!
That’s not all CLA can do for an aging body…
Because it can also BOOST bone health!
In another animal study out of UT, researchers discovered how CLA influences bone metabolism factors… like osteoclastogenesis, or the production of “bone-eating” cells… to improve bone mineral density in mice.
You see, to maintain healthy bone mass, you’ve got to strike a perfect balance between GETTING RID of “old” bone cells… and GROWING “new” bone cells.
As we get older, our bodies unfortunately tend to LOSE bone more quickly than we REPLACE it.
But CLA appears to help hit the brakes on bone loss!
The best source of CLA is grass-fed beef and dairy…
But if you’ve been eating “low-fat” milks and cheeses… the CLA content has likely been REMOVED!
If full-fat dairy or a T-bone steak aren’t an option for you, you can also find CLA supplements, usually derived from safflower.
Look for one that contains a mixture of cis-9,trans-11 and trans-10,cis-12… which the FDA has granted Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status.
And as always, check with your doc first to make sure any new supplement is safe for you to take… and won’t interact with any other supplements or meds you may already be taking.
To building up muscle and bones,
Melissa Young
