Last month I sent you an e-Alert (“Sugar in the Morning, Sugar in the evening” 9/4/02) with details about a research project conducted by HSI Panelist, Jon Barron. This research resulted in a formula, called Glucotor, that may significantly reduce blood sugar levels after each meal.

Shortly after that e-Alert, I received this e-mail from Jon in response to a discussion about doctors and nutrition:

“The truly amazing thing is that people actually listen to doctors when it comes to anything nutritional. In point of fact, it’s not their field. Doctors don’t study nutrition in medical school. They take one semester of basic nutrition — which amounts to about 6-8 hours of classes at one class per week. Anyone who reads one or two good books on nutrition knows more than the average doctor, and yet doctors set themselves up as authorities on the subject. Is it any wonder, then, that there is so much misinformation?

“If you have any doubt about how little doctors know about nutrition, just look at the food served in hospitals. Besides the obvious jokes, the simple fact is that hospital food is lousy nutrition and does anything but promote good health and rapid recovery.”

Jon’s point is well taken. A few years ago I had a problem with heartburn. When I asked my doctor about it, I was impressed to find that she had a nutritionist on her staff. So rather than attempt to field the question herself, she suggested that I consult with the nutritionist, which I did, and a simple change in my diet took care of the heartburn problem.

My thanks to Jon for that e-mail. And for those of you who may be coping with diabetes or hypoglycemia (and the health problems that inevitably come with these diseases), I highly recommend a visit to the web site for Healing America (www.northernnutrition.healingamerica.com) where you’ll find more information about Jon’s Glucotor formula.

To Your Good Health,

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
