While you might be busy having a good time at the beach or pool this summer, the feds are planning ahead for their favorite time of the year: flu season!

Soon, they will have something extra special in store for you: a do-it-yourself home flu test to take at the very first sniffle.

In fact, it’s so extraordinary that research for this device is being funded with 24 million of our tax dollars.

But the more I looked into this concept of folks testing themselves from the comfort of their beds or couches, the more peculiar it all seemed. After all, as the CDC tells us, most docs don’t even bother testing patients who visit their offices with a suspected bout of the flu!

The answer, though, appears to be very simple.

It’s all about scaring you silly into getting a flu shot.

However, there’s no reason for you to fall for any of this propaganda, be it new or old.

Because there are some exceptional ways to stay flu-free, including one remarkable finding I told you about last year that could potentially put Big Pharma’s cash-cow influenza shot out to pasture.

Coming around again

This DIY flu test could prove to be one of the most profitable deals ever cut between the government and drugmakers that’s designed to sell more shots and push more Tamiflu pills than ever before.

To get a flu test done, your doctor or nurse needs to stick a swab way up your nose or in the back of your throat to get a sample. They most often use what’s called a “rapid influenza diagnostic test,” which this at-home kit will, I’m sure, be patterned after.

Even when done by a professional, however, this test is notoriously unreliable, and it can easily deliver the wrong results — including plenty of false positives.

But this device in the works will do more than just tell you whether you have the flu. It comes along with a smartphone app that connects with your doctor and pharmacy (to have one of those antivirals such as Tamiflu delivered to your door pronto!)… and reports those flu findings to a federal database.

And that’s when the CDC starts doing its happy dance.

The more influenza hot spots the agency can point to on a map (even if the info is very likely to be incorrect), the more it can give you the hard sell for flu shots and meds in the future. Plus that, it will be able to pinpoint exactly where pushing its vaccines and drugs will get the most bang for its buck.

Of course, I’m sure the data provided by such DIY tests won’t even be expected to be all that reliable.

Remember, not only will these results be subject to the same quirks your doctor deals with, but they’ll be done by everyday folks… for the first time… following instructions on a box.

The point is, as more and more people become aware of just how risky – and ineffective – flu shots and those anti-viral drugs are, it becomes harder for Big Pharma and the CDC to get us to willingly roll up our sleeves.

But as I mentioned, there was a breakthrough finding last year about how to prevent the flu. Unsurprisingly, it got very little press coverage.

Georgia State University researchers found that when lab mice who were given a “lethal” dose of influenza A virus were “pre-treated” with a probiotic – a lactic acid bacteria called Lactobacillus casei (L. casei) derived from fermented vegetables — all of them survived!

Not only that, but the rodents had 18 times less virus in their lungs than the untreated mice (who all ended up dying), a robust immune response, and immunity against a secondary viral infection.

It’s no secret that probiotics can keep you healthy, but this study tells us just how powerful that protection can be. Personally, I would rather see $24 million put toward further research into those findings than that DIY flu test!

Along with taking a high-quality probiotic every day (you can even find one with L. casei), you can keep your immune system up to par by:

  • getting some daily exercise,
  • allowing your body to make vitamin D by exposing your skin to sunshine for at least 10 minutes a day,
  • eating plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, and
  • getting enough shuteye at night.

And keep in mind that pharma and the feds will continue to pursue any idea whatsoever that will help forward their mission to sell you a flu shot.

Because when all you’ve got is a hammer, everything looks like a nail!

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
