Could you ever imagine a toxic substance being deliberately added to a product intended for babies?

As unbelievable as that sounds, it’s true. A known poison is being put into bottles of water sold to mix with infant formula, cereals, and juices. One brand was recently recalled, with the FDA issuing an urgent consumer alert.

But, believe it or not, the recall wasn’t over this poisonous addition.

In a sense, we can thank an unintended impurity — the mold known as Talaromyces penicillium — for alerting us to a far worse hazard to our kids and grandkids.

This particular mold was found in a bottled water product called Kroger’s Comforts for Baby purified water with added fluoride.

That’s right — fluoride for babies!

A chemical linked to bone fractures, thyroid damage, lower IQs in children, and cancer is being put into water intended for infants. It’s absolutely mind-boggling!

That’s why, if you’re the parent or grandparent of a baby, you need to know what it is the FDA isn’t warning you about.

Because it could make all the difference in the world in helping a child you love from being victimized by one of the biggest health scams ever.

Don’t drink this water

The FDA is concerned that the mold or its spores found in the fluoridated Comforts for Baby purified water can cause allergic reactions that include sneezing, red eyes, and skin rashes — or eye, skin, and throat irritations in those who aren’t allergic.

As for the fluoride — well, don’t worry about it!

Even the EPA categorizes fluoride as a toxic water contaminant, and some of that agency’s leading scientists have long spoken out against fluoridation of drinking water as a way of preventing tooth decay.

And despite the fact that fluoride has been shoved down our collective throats for over six decades now, there has never been a randomized trial to determine if fluoride is, in fact, safe or effective!

But even the staunchest fluoride-pushers will admit that being exposed to this chemical at such an early age will result in a condition called dental fluorosis, which can go from a discoloration of teeth to heavy staining and a crumbling of tooth enamel.

Take the American Dental Association — it has a Q&A on its webpage about how to “decrease the chances” that your child will get dental fluorosis. And the best way is to breast feed a baby, as mother’s milk has extremely low fluoride levels. Or, the group advises, use fluoride-free water to mix with formula and cereal! And remember, the ADA fully backs water fluoridation.

Kroger’s, however, isn’t the only company pushing this poison for children. Other brands of fluoridated water — with photos of precious little babies on the bottles — are sold in stores everywhere.

And what this anything-but-benign substance (once used to kill rats!) might be doing to the most vulnerable among us is something that concerns many experts the most.

Recently, Michael Connett and Tara Blank, Ph.D., of the Fluoride Action Network reported that as of this fall, 51 of 58 studies on more than 12,000 children in China, India, Iran, and Mexico found that elevated exposure to fluoride is associated with reduced IQ, providing “compelling evidence” that it can damage a child’s developing brain.

They also noted that a team of Harvard scientists, after having reviewed 27 of those studies, concluded that fluoride’s effect on young brains should become a “high research priority.”

Other scientists, they added, have come to similar conclusions, including the National Research Council (NRC) and scientists in the Neurotoxicology Division of the Environmental Protection Agency.

All of this should make the idea of not consuming fluoridated water, even if it’s mold free, a no-brainer for babies and children — and you as well!

And if the water coming from your tap is fluoridated, it’s time to invest in a reverse osmosis system, either at your kitchen faucet (the less expensive option) or throughout your whole house.
