You might say the statin “beans” have been spilled!

A new study that looked at a risky med for the purpose of treating heart disease has given us two vital pieces of information that Big Pharma wasn’t counting on being uncovered.

One, it is possible you could make that killer condition a thing of the past.

And two, statin drugs aren’t worth the paper the prescriptions for them are written on.

Drugs not required

Just a few weeks ago, I told you about a very risky med, one currently used to treat a rare condition that drugmaker Novartis is hoping to repackage as a shot to prevent heart disease.

That med, called Ilaris, is about as dangerous as a drug can be. One of its major risks is its ability to practically disable your immune system, leaving you open for any and all kinds of infections.

But there’s something else it does — it can lower inflammation. And lowering inflammation has been found to do some amazing things where your heart is concerned.

Which brings me back to statins. For decades, we’ve been bullied, scared and intimidated into believing that if we (and I mean practically everyone these days!) aren’t popping Lipitor or Crestor or some other statin, we’re living as dangerously as a tightrope walker crossing the Grand Canyon.

Then, as if that weren’t enough, there are also those new, heavy-duty, pricey shots that will lower your cholesterol even more!

But here’s the thing: As we’ve been telling eAlert readers for years now, cholesterol isn’t the demon the mainstream has made it out to be.

And now we’re hearing that jaw-dropping confession from a pharma-funded, mainstream doctor!

Dr. Paul Ridker, lead investigator in what was dubbed the CANTOS trial to examine Ilaris for heart disease prevention, had something important to say about the study’s conclusions.

After more than two decades of research, he said, it’s now been proven that half of the heart attacks suffered are in people who… drumroll, please… “do not have high cholesterol.”

Wait, what? This esteemed director of heart disease prevention at Brigham and Women’s Hospital is telling the world that cholesterol isn’t responsible for half of all heart attacks? Did his Big Pharma buddies who manufacture those billion-dollar statin heart “cures” know he was going to say that?

Well, before they jettison Dr. Ridker off to some remote island, he’s got one more bomb to drop: what he believes may be responsible for the other half is chronic inflammation.

The CANTOS results set off shockwaves in the medical world, with heavy-hitters such as the Cleveland Clinic’s Dr. Steven Nissen saying that “everybody on the planet” (mostly Big Pharma’s planet) are now going to be rushing around to “find anti-inflammatory therapies” (a.k.a. more drugs) to treat and prevent heart disease.

I’m not sure what planet Dr. Nissen lives on, but here on Earth, we already know about a lot of anti-inflammatory therapies — and not one of them has come from pharma land!

For example:

#1 Omega-3 fatty acids are top anti-inflammatory compounds that can be found in fatty fish like wild salmon and sardines, chia seeds and walnuts. If these foods aren’t on your menu, a high-quality fish-oil supplement can fill the bill as well.

#2 Ginger, chives, garlic, onions and shallots, not only boost flavor and nutrition, but are excellent inflammation fighters!

#3 Curcumin, the active ingredient in the spice turmeric, is in a class all of its own! It’s been studied up, down and all around and found to be one of the best anti-inflammatory compounds out there. So, don’t just wait to have some curry to make use of this amazing substance. Turmeric supplements are also easy to find.

By the same token — you should also watch out for foods that can trigger inflammation. These include sugar, dairy products and trans fats in the form of partially hydrogenated oils.

But the point is, we don’t need dangerous drugs to keep inflammation-induced heart disease at bay, when all the tools for doing so — without side effects — can be found right in our own pantry and fridge!

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
