Here’s the number-one way to stop muscle pain from statins
A group of international researchers are hard at work to find a solution to treat a common drug side effect that puts millions in agony every day.
And they think they may have come up with something!
I’m talking about the muscle pain and weakness that often go along with taking statin drugs, such as Lipitor and Crestor. The mainstream tried to deny this reaction for years, going so far as to label it psychosomatic, until finally it could no longer be dismissed.
Even a top doc from the Cleveland Clinic — which has long defended the use of statins as a “life-saving” measure — could no longer deny the truth. “We’ve confirmed that this is a problem and it’s real,” he said.
Wow — finally you’re told it’s not all in your head!
The Cleveland Clinic doc says he’s come up with a “solution” to the problem, in the form of another cholesterol-lowering drug that just happens to not be a statin.
Other researchers have been putting their heads together to find a natural solution.
But when it comes to dealing with this disabling side effect, there’s one very simple thing you can do… and it’s already been proven to work wonders.
Recently, a large group of scientists and doctors from locales as diverse as Australia, Italy, and Poland got together to try and solve the problem of statin-induced muscle pain.
And what they discovered is that curcumin, which comes from the spice turmeric, appears to be able to help ease the agony many experience due to these drugs.
Of course, it’s always good to chalk up more perks to turmeric. This “curry” spice is already known to have loads of amazing health benefits, such as reducing arterial plaque, lowering your risk of dementia and even fighting cancer.
But here’s the thing: There’s already a proven way to get back your muscle strength and lose the pain…
Stop taking statin drugs.
Many people report a total reversal of muscle pain and weakness after only a couple of weeks of being off these meds.
And despite the fact that the mainstream will tell you that practically everyone over 40 needs to pop a statin — or else — that’s just not true.
As Editor-in-Chief of JAMA Internal Medicine Dr. Rita Redberg — who is also a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco — said, “People have a very exaggerated idea of (statin) benefits.”
People are supposedly taking statins to prevent heart disease, but they’re instead “creating a disaster,” warns Professor Sherif Sultan, who heads the International Society for Vascular Surgery in the UK.
This should come as no surprise to eAlert readers, who know that these drugs not only come with some horrible side effects (including diabetes), but have been found to actually up your risk of heart disease!
In fact, over two years ago, we told you about a study out of Japan that found statin drugs can increase plaque buildup in your arteries — otherwise known as atherosclerosis. They do that in a number of ways, mainly by inhibiting vitamin K2 (which protects your arteries from calcification), interfering with selenium production (that protects your heart from the damage caused by free radicals), and depleting your supply of CoQ10.
Look, turmeric is practically a Swiss Army Knife when it comes to multiple health benefits.
But if you want to alleviate statin-induced muscle pain, the very best way to do that is stop listening to all that statin static and kick these risky meds out of your life once and for all.
