- You agree not to submit inappropriate content. Inappropriate content includes any content that:
- infringes upon or violates the copyrights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights of any person
- is libelous or defamatory
- is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
- violates a person’s right to privacy
- violates any local, state, national, or international law
- contains or advocates illegal or violent acts
- degrades others on the basis of gender, race, class, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or other classification
- is predatory, hateful, or intended to intimidate or harass
- contains advertising or solicitation of any kind
- misrepresents your identity or affiliation
- impersonates others
- You certify that you own the rights to the content submitted or have the permission of others who have contributed to or are featured in any content that you submit. Please note, we do not want to publish articles that overlap substantially with articles published elsewhere. It is unacceptable to submit an article that overlaps substantially with your own previous work (whether that work has been published or submitted – to HSI or elsewhere). Please tell us about this so that we can judge the degree and nature of overlap. We expect authors to submit, as supplemental files, copies of any previous article that overlaps by more than 10% with their submission to HSI.
- You further understand that we do not have the obligation to publish any submitted content. In the event HSI is interested in publishing your submission, we will be in contact about the next steps, which may include discussions related to edits, providing appropriate research back up, intellectual property rights and compensation schemes, if any. It is not always possible for us to answer all submission inquiries in a timely manner, particularly at busy times of the year.
