It’s the biggest scam in medicine — and it looks like the cheap tricks just keep on coming.

For years I’ve warned you how Big Pharma and the mainstream will stop at nothing until you and everyone you know is popping a cholesterol-lowering statin. And that’s even after research has proven that they can cause everything from diabetes to heart disease.

But now there’s a new study out that even I couldn’t believe.

Researchers are trying to claim that a daily mega-dose of Lipitor can save your eyesight and even stop macular degeneration in is tracks.

But there are some major risks that these scientists (and the media) have lost sight of. Because these same statins could actually put you on the fast track to blindness — and that’s if they don’t kill you first.

More than meets the eye
Every time I see a new study on statins, there seems to be one big thing missing — common sense.

And this new research out of Harvard Medical School, unfortunately, isn’t any different.

You see, researchers are claiming that they found that high-dose Lipitor can help reverse the damage of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). That’s because when you get AMD, you develop cholesterol deposits — called drusen — on your eyes.

The way the media reported on it, you would have thought they found the cure for blindness hiding in a bottle of Lipitor.

But trust me — there was a lot more to this research that you were never supposed to hear about.

First of all, they didn’t have enough people in this study to fill a kindergarten classroom. It was only 23 people, and the treatment didn’t work for 13 of them.

That’s right — only the mainstream would try to pass off a 57 percent failure rate as a breakthrough.

And that’s not even the worst news — not by a longshot.

The poor folks in this study were loaded up with enough statins to choke a horse. The standard dose of Lipitor is 10 to 20 mg a day, but these people were taking an 80 mg mega-dose.

And taking eight times more Lipitor isn’t just reckless — it’s absolute poison for your eyes.

I’ve told you before how statins can boost your risk of cataracts by 27 percent. Even worse, a study out of Texas last year found that these meds send your risk of diabetes skyrocketing by nearly 90 percent — at much lower doses.

And nothing can rob you of your vision faster than a serious case of diabetes.

And while loading up on statins isn’t going to do your eyes any favors, there’s a good chance it could send you to an early grave.

A study more than 10 years ago sponsored by Pfizer found that people who took 80 mg of Lipitor were more likely to turn up dead — and it increased your chances of liver damage by a whopping 500 percent.

That’s something the study authors didn’t even bother to question, leading one expert to warn that “we need further reassurance as to the safety of this (high dose) approach.”

You can say that again.

This new study didn’t find some miracle cure for AMD — just another way to keep pushing dangerous statins on every adult out there. And, unfortunately, there’s nothing to stop doctors from handing out statins off-label to treat AMD right now.

Look, I could warn you about the dangers of taking statins (especially a super dose of them) until the cows come home. But at the end of the day, it’s your vision on the line.

And that’s why you need to know that there are natural supplements like carotenoids, lutein and astaxanthin that have been proven to protect your vision and should be your first line of defense against AMD.

And they’re a whole lot safer than this risky statins treatment that’s been proven to fail more often than it works — and that could leave you with a lifetime of side effects in the bargain.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
