It should have been the lead story on every network news programs. But this shocking new study on the horrific side effects of statins doesn’t seem to have made it past two local papers in Florida.

And that itself should be making headlines.

Because this study found that statins aren’t preventing heart disease.

No…they’re causing it.

The planet of the statins

In America we spend $7 billion a year on Lipitor alone. No, that’s not a typo — $7 billion — on one drug!

But despite all the money being thrown at Lipitor and all the other dangerous, cholesterol-lowering meds, heart disease is still the number one cause of death — for both men and women.

The American Heart Association (the main pusher of statin drugs) wants all women to wear red every February 6th to show how they have taken “charge of their heart health.”

But here’s how to really take “charge” of your heart health — dump the Lipitor, Crestor, Zocor and every other statin drug. And you can do that while wearing red, green, yellow — any color you like.

We know that statins cause diabetes, cataracts, mental impairment, muscle pains, fatigue and liver dysfunction. You would think that would be enough to send Pfizer and its beloved Lipitor packing. It wasn’t.

But this news should…and it’s all neatly summed up in the study title:

“Statins stimulate atherosclerosis and heart failure.”

Maybe that was too complex for the talking heads on the morning news shows to comprehend. Or maybe since it didn’t involve a Kardashian, it wasn’t considered newsworthy.

The Japanese researchers found that the way statin drugs work is a sure-fire way to damage the heart, increase plaque buildup in your arteries (atherosclerosis), and both cause and worsen heart failure.

Here are the gruesome details: Statins inhibit vitamin K2, a powerhouse that protects arteries from calcification — a buildup of calcium in the arteries (why atherosclerosis is also called “hardening of the arteries).

Statins interfere with the production of vital selenium-containing proteins that protect the heart from free radical damage. In fact, it’s known that low selenium levels can actually trigger heart failure.

Statins deplete CoQ10. This is a giant heart-damaging effect, one that is also very well documented. (In fact, Public Citizen petitioned the FDA to put a black box warning on all statins alerting patients to the fact that they need to take a CoQ10 supplement along with the drug. The FDA said “no.”)

Statins are toxic to the power-generators of heart cells called the mitochondria. This is a biggie, because the heart muscle needs a lot of energy. The drug also causes a chain reaction that depletes a vital molecule called ATP, often referred to as the “energy currency of life.” The bottom line is that you must have an adequate supply of ATP in your body or you can’t survive.

Now, as I said, this critical new research got practically no attention from the media. But another study that came out at the same time did.

That was about statin “nonresponders.” Those are people who keep popping statins but have “dangerously clogged arteries.” These researchers said it wasn’t clear why that was happening.

Give me a break! If they had bothered reading the research out there — especially this new study from Japan I just told you about — it would be obvious why.

But not to worry! These “nonresponders” have “hope” on the horizon with a new generation of statin drugs now being tested in clinical trials.

Look, statins have harmed enough of us already.

Whether they’re new and “improved” or the tried and tragic originals, the only way to protect your heart is to steer clear of them all.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
