The great deception that keeps those vaccine sales numbers high

The biggest flu lie you’ve been told (and it isn’t about the vaccine!)

This year’s flu season may be down to its last gasp, but you could never tell by looking around you. All the signs and banners are still flying high urging you to “Get your flu shot today.” It’s even permanently painted on the parking posts at my local Walgreen’s.

And they always back up the sales message with lots of scary numbers of how many are getting seriously sick — or worse.

Now new research is out that should have stopped those flu-vaccine promoters in their tracks…if only they cared about actual science. But when the government has over $1 billion invested in new vaccine technology, well, there isn’t always room for science.

Passing the bucks

This new study found that over 75 percent of people with CONFIRMED cases of the flu (based on blood tests and nasal swabs) only had a runny nose or didn’t even feel the least bit sick. And this research included that big swine flu “pandemic” of 2009.

But the CDC’s job is to sell you the flu shot. And that’s because they all have a whole lot of money invested in keeping those sales figures high.

So who cares if today’s flu is far milder than what we’re always being told.

This season started the first widespread use of two brand new kinds of flu vaccines that use “new production techniques.” The FDA claims these will speed up vaccine production so we’re at the ready should the next pandemic strike.

In 2009 Novaritis got almost $500 million to build a U.S. factory to produce a new dog cell vaccine called Flucelvax. (Yes…a vaccine made from DOG cells!) And the government invested $147 million in another drug company called Protein Sciences to get something called Flublok into pharmacies and doctor’s offices.

So now, even while it’s clear that only one quarter of the people who actually had the flu showed any symptoms at all, they’re still trying to scare us into submission — and experimenting on us with two new kinds of risky vaccines!

After all nothing will stop a plan with so much money invested in it. Last year the CDC bragged that the 2012 flu vaccine kept 80,000 people out of the hospital and prevented almost 7 million cases of the flu.

I wonder if that’s counting all the people who would have just gotten a runny nose?

But as the saying goes, “when the only tool you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail.”

Especially when it’s a billion-dollar hammer.
