You know this powerful antioxidant as the anti-inflammatory compound that gives curry it’s flavor and golden color.

But curcumin also delivers health benefits — helping to control blood sugar and relieve depression.

Those reports prompted a question from an HSI member named Joyce…

“One of your articles stated that curcumin is beneficial for depression/anxiety. What method is best for incorporating this into your diet and how much?”

You would need to eat three large curry meals every day to get a therapeutic dose of curcumin. That’s quite a bit more than most western palates can handle.

A curcumin supplement is a more convenient way to go, obviously. In the depression study, 500 mg per day was enough to relieve anxiety, moodiness, and other depressive symptoms.
