School programs sponsored by Pharma?

Here’s a chilling comment I came across in the HSI Healthier Talk forum. This was posted by a member named Noelalexis2000:

“I think we are really in danger of the school programs being funded by corporations and pharma companies. When I went to my granddaughter’s awards program for honor roll the gift to the top students were free six packs of diet coke. I could not believe my eyes. What kind of a school pushes soda on children?”

I’m afraid this sort of thing is far more common than we’d like to think.
