This eye test might make you feel like your brain is slipping

“Alzheimer’s Eye Test”

That was the subject line of an e-mail I received recently. Turns out it had nothing to do with Alzheimer’s, although the test might make you think your mind is slipping.

Here’s how to take the test.

Count every “F” in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS

Now how many did you count?

Three? Nice try, but nope. Read it again.

According to the e-mail I received, the brain doesn’t naturally process the F in the word OF. Most people count three Fs on the first pass, and I admit I’m in that group. Some count four, but to catch all six is apparently rare.

What does it all mean? It means you now have something to send to family and friends to drive them a little bit crazy.
