It’s all about the environment

I think it’s safe to say that most everyone who joined us for last week’s teleconference with HSI Panelist and First Lady of Nutrition Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., C.N.S., came away with a respect for the way the environment impacts our health.

Over the course of 90 minutes, Ann Louise made one compelling point after another about environmental toxins and how they compromise our best efforts to stay healthy, even interfering with attempts to lose weight.

For instance, if you begin a high protein weight-loss diet, you may find yourself fighting an uphill battle against the toxins in commercial meats.

The solution: Find a reputable source of organically raised meat from animals that have not been fattened with grain feed or growth hormones.

Of course, taking steps to detoxify helps the cause enormously. But even if you weren’t able to join us for the teleconference you can still pick up a wealth of useful detoxification insights and advice from Ann Louise’s new book titled “The Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet.”

Here’s what an HSI member named Lolita had to say about the book: “I got a copy of Ann Louise Gittleman’s new book ‘One Day Detox’. It has really helped to rev up my metabolism by following her plan. I think she is on target about the need to cleanse the liver and colon prior to starting a weight loss program. I think even if you are not thinking about weight loss, eating to cleanse the liver and colon are important!”

Ann Louise also mentioned an interesting detail about responses she’s received from people who have already tried the One-Day Detox. It seems that many are reporting a reduced frequency of headaches. For many people, that ALONE would be a good enough reason to give this quick detox diet a try. You can find more information about this excellent book at annlouise.com.
