Flu season is long over, but the good news: vaccines are still available!
The other day I saw a sign in front of a local community center that read: “This Saturday – Flu Shots!”
Flu shots? In MAY?
Says Bill Hall: Absolutely!
Bill is a Health and Human Services spokesperson. He recently told Reuters Health that states and other providers who have a surplus of H1N1 flu vaccine should offer them to the public.
Like…ASAP.
Last year, the U.S. government ordered 229 million H1N1 vaccines. Of the 162 that were delivered, about 70 million doses are sitting, unused. And many of those doses will expire just a few weeks from now at the end of June.
So don’t be surprised if you’re offered H1N1 shots at community centers, grocery store clinics, high school car washes, restaurants…
Limited time offer: Order two medium pizzas, get a flu shot free!
To Your Good Health,
Jenny Thompson
