Here’s a Gardasil conversation you won’t believe

I cannot beLIEVE what I just heard.

I was at the doctor’s office where the physician’s assistant looked over a chart and said to the mother of an 11-year-old girl, “I see your daughter is due for a vaccination.”

When the mom asked which one, the PA said, “Gardasil, the HPV vaccine.”

The mom said, “She’s not taking Gardasil. Not ever!”

The PA looked surprised and asked, “Why not?”

The mom was adamant, “Because of the side effects.”

Then the PA floored me with this: “Gardasil doesn’t cause any side effects.”

Yikes! Bad enough she seems to regard Gardasil as just another entry on the routine vaccination schedule. But no side effects? What faraway, clueless health care planet does this PA come from!?

The FDA has received more than 15,000 adverse event reports for Gardasil use among girls. Those reports include over 1,000 severe reactions and 27 confirmed deaths.
