It’s a $7 billion-a-year surgical racket… more likely to wreck your joints than save them.

So why are 700,000 Americans a year being talked into it?

Picture this…

Your knee is shooting waves of pain when you go up or down the stairs.

Even if you sit down for a minute, it feels like your knee is locking up.

A surgeon tells you that you have some damage – or even a tear – in your meniscus.

But it’s no big deal — he’ll just trim out the damaged part.

You’ll be on your feet the next day, and recovered in about a month.

This might be a good time to bolt for the door.

Because research is finally exposing this surgery for what it is…

A worthless procedure that could leave you in the worst pain of your life… or even disabled.

And you deserve to hear the truth before EVER agreeing to go under the knife.

They say when you’re a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail.

Well, for too many surgeons, every problem they see looks like an excuse to operate.

And when it comes to knee surgeries, the entire industry has gotten wildly out of control.

That’s definitely the case when it comes to partial meniscectomies, where a surgeon removes the damaged part of your meniscus after a tear. You’ll sometimes hear it called a “trim” or “snip.”

You see, your meniscus is a piece of cartilage that acts like a shock absorber for your knee.

And when you remove a portion of it, you destabilize the entire joint.

A recent study out of Finland, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, looked at people who got partial meniscectomies for degenerative meniscus injuries – a very common procedure among seniors.

They followed these patients for 10 years, and compared them to patients who got a fake “sham” surgery instead.

The results were horrifying. The patients who got partial meniscectomies reported:

  • More knee-pain symptoms
  • Less function
  • Increased progression of arthritis, and
  • A greater need for follow-up surgeries

That’s right, friend. This knee surgery performed WORSE than a sham procedure.

These patients would have been better off doing NOTHING.

The lead researcher even said that partial meniscectomies may be an example of “medical reversal,” where a “broadly used therapy proves ineffective or even harmful.”

Friend, there’s only one reason these surgeries are so common in America – money.

There are about 700,000 partial meniscectomies performed in the United States each year – that’s about equal to the entire population of Denver.

And each one of these surgeries goes for about $10,000 a pop (not even including rehab costs).

This is a $7 billion-a-year medical racket that is leaving countless patients – especially older folks – worse off than it found them.

Sometimes, the smartest surgical decision you can make is to not get a surgery at all.

Surgeons will often frame a meniscus snip as your only option, but that simply isn’t true.

Physical therapy can work wonders for a damaged or torn meniscus. And prolotherapy – where sugar water is injected into your joint to stimulate healing – has performed very well on meniscus problems.

These are two good places to start before ever agreeing to a surgery you might not need – and that might do you more harm than good.

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
