Imagine your world suddenly going dark. Your consciousness fading in and out to the frightened faces of loved ones.

And then you awake, maybe days later, in a hospital bed—your body and mind inexplicably changed

Words no longer form and once effortless movements now lag clumsily, if at all. Your very identity, sense of self, and independence now rely on damaged neurons that struggle to forge new connections.

This shattering reality afflicts nearly 800,000 Americans annually, after surviving a stroke

Many require months, even years of exhaustive therapy trying to regain slivers of lost cognitive function.

What if you could reclaim pieces of your stolen mind in matter of weeks—no drugs required.

Well, it turns out a supplement infusion is now showing incredible promise when it comes to accelerating post-stroke cognitive recovery.

Chinese and American scientists focused their efforts on ginkgo diterpene lactone meglumine (GDLM), the biologically active extract of dried ginkgo leaves and seeds. They noted GDLM’s ability to enhance blood flow while suppressing inflammation and cell death.

Could using GDLM right after a stroke help offset cognitive decline?

Based on traditional medicine usage and previous cellular studies, researchers believe it may speed up post-stroke brain repair. They believe it work by:

  • Improving blood delivery to oxygen-starved areas
  • Reducing destructive swelling and inflammation
  • Blocking programmed cell suicide (apoptosis)
  • Stimulating neuron-protecting proteins

The team set out to test this in humans afflicted by ischemia—which is a stroke prompted by a blood clot.

Across 100 Chinese stroke centers, they quickly treated half of over 3,000 patients with daily IV GDLM injections for 2 weeks. The control group received placebo injections on the same schedule.

Remarkably, GDLM recipients showed cognitive score boosts just 14 days later. This quick improvement then widened even further upon follow-up evaluations at 90 days post-stroke.

While larger clinical trials are still needed to confirm the effects and refine dosing, these preliminary wins are prosing for ginkgo’s future stroke role.

The American Stroke Association stresses consulting physicians before attempting botanical therapies—even promising ones, like ginkgo.

But, under proper medical guidance, GDLM injections could soon prove a reliable stroke treatment.

And it’s worth noting that catching a stroke as soon as it starts and getting medical attention ASAP is crucial in terms of survival and recovery.

Be on the lookout for these signs:

  • Facial drooping
  • Arm weakness or numbness
  • Difficulty speaking or understanding language
  • Vision changes or dizziness
  • Sudden loss of balance or coordination
  • Debilitating headache

If you or a loved one experience ANY of these, dial 911 immediately.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
