Is there any better feeling than waking up from a great night’s SLEEP?

You feel REFRESHEDRECHARGED… and ready to TAKE ON the day.

But like many things in life, you can have too much of a good thing – including SLEEP!

Here’s the science why sleeping too much can take a serious toll on your long-term health.

A study out of Boston University found that if you tend to sleep longer and consistently, you could be upping your chance of developing DEMENTIA.

Now you might be wondering, how can too much sleep be a bad thing?

After studying more than 2,400 participants, researchers found that those who slept nine hours or more a night had 2X the risk of developing dementia than those who slept less than nine hours.

So, while getting a good night’s rest is good for your overall health… getting TOO much for days on end could be detrimental for your brain.

When it comes to sleep and brain health… it’s all about QUALITY over quantity.

This means sleeping hard (without interruption) and not just lying in bed.

And if you need help with sleeping soundly, consider taking a magnesium supplement.

Magnesium is a mineral involved in hundreds of processes in your body, and is important for brain function. It can also help quiet your mind and body, making it easier for you to fall asleep.

Studies show that magnesium’s relaxing effect may be partly due to its ability to regulate the production of melatonin, which is your body’s internal hormone that signals it’s time to sleep.

Reliable supplements can be found at health food stores and online retailers.

Another, lesser-known (but natural) sleep aid is also pistachio. We dive into it in our monthly Health Sciences Institute newsletter. If you’re not yet a subscriber, click the button below.
