Beat back FALL allergies without OTCs
What season generally comes to mind when you think of ALLERGIES?
Most would guess SPRING—and yes, seasonal allergies do tend to run rampant.
But did you know that ragweed pollen (a common allergen) is at its HIGHEST in mid-September?
Which means, depending on where you live, you could be right in the middle of allergy season!
Luckily, there’s a simple—and tasty—way to beat back these miserable fall allergies.
This allergy season, before you grab a box of high-powered antihistamines, you should consider eating HONEY.
Honey is rich in antioxidants, a healthy alternative to refined sugar, and can even help improve your heart health.
And some people swear honey gives them relief from allergies.
Of course, many in mainstream medicine are skeptical…
That’s because they’re not giving you the full story.
To begin, you need to eat the RIGHT kind of honey. So you won’t see any benefit from the processed, run-of-the-mill stuff in the grocery store.
You need raw, local honey.
Local beekeepers use honey that’s pollinated by bees in your area. These bees collect pollen from local plants. They then bring it back to the hive, where small amounts go into the honey.
And since most symptoms of seasonal allergies are caused by allergens from your area—eating raw, local honey helps your body adjust to local allergens each year, resulting in less allergy symptoms.
Raw honey is also better for you as it contains more of the “raw” pollen from bees. It’s harder to find, but it’s what I’ve recommended to some of my patients.
You can find this type of honey at your local farmer’s market. I recommend making a trek to find it in your area.
Start with one teaspoon per day. And if you keep it up, not only can it help with acute allergy symptoms… but it can also help your body react better to pollen year-round.
