Popular meds making your blood pressure WORSE?!
If you’ve been diagnosed with high blood pressure (HBP), you can bet the farm your doctor has prescribed some kind of medication to help lower it.
But once again, this is where so many mainstream doctors MISS THE MARK when it comes to blood pressure medication and your overall health.
Especially if you’re taking OTHER medications—either prescription or over-the-counter (OTC).
Because taking ‘other’ medications on top of blood pressure meds could end up making your blood pressure WORSE.
Here’s what you need to know.
The American College of Cardiology says that 20% of adults with HBP are taking medications that are actually WORSENING their blood pressure.
It turns out that other meds, especially ones available OTC, can interfere with the efforts of prescription blood pressure medications—thus never fixing your high blood pressure!
YIKES!
If this news has you running to your medicine cabinet wondering what you CAN take, I don’t blame you.
Here’s where you can start …
The single best thing you can do is make an appointment with your doctor, and have a serious talk about any and all prescriptions or OTC drugs he or she may have either prescribed or recommended.
Gather up all your medications, put them in a bag, and go through each one with your doctor and ask if:
1) You’re taking the correct dosage, and…
2) If they could interfere with each other.
If your doctor can’t give you a straight answer… it may be time to seek a second opinion!
Of course, there’s also no harm in ditching the BP drugs and seeking natural remedies for high blood pressure, like beetroot or chlorella.
