Those infamous senior moments are annoying…

But unfortunately, they’re often part of the aging process.

In fact, about 40% of Americans 65 or older report having age-related memory issues.

But what if you could keep your mind sharp—even well into ‘old age’—by doing nothing more than harnessing the power of “COW FAT?”

Phosphatidylserine (pronounced fos-fuh-tie-dul-SER-een) is a mouthful to pronounce, but this natural supplement packs a wallop of brain-boosting benefits.

Phosphatidylserine is naturally derived from a fatty substance called a phospholipid.

Research has found that phospholipids cover and protect the cells in your brain, carry messages between these cells, and are vital for the proper functioning of the nerve cells within your brain.

Though it was originally derived from the brain cells of cattle, today most phosphatidylserine supplements come from plant sources, like soy and cabbage—two foods that contain high levels of phospholipid.

In a study published in the Journal of Clinical Biochemistry and Nutrition, researchers studied how soy-based phosphatidylserine supplements affected the memories of older adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). This is the stage between the expected cognitive decline of normal aging and dementia. It’s characterized by problems with memory, language, thinking, or judgment.

Study participants were given a series of memory and cognition tests to determine baseline memory metrics, and then were assigned to six months of treatment—half were given phosphatidylserine supplements, and the other half a placebo.

After six months of regular supplementation, the researchers were shocked by what they learned…

Participants re-took the original memory and cognition tests, and the folks who supplemented with phosphatidylserine all significantly IMPROVED their test scores.

As for the placebo group’s scores? Those stayed the same!

Today, the majority of phosphatidylserine supplements you’ll find come from soy.

Luckily, supplements are fairly easy to find. If your local health food or vitamin store doesn’t carry them, you can find a variety of easy-to-take phosphatidylserine capsules at online vitamin and wellness retailers.

Phosphatidylserine is NOT a treatment for severe brain and memory diseases like Alzheimer’s or dementia. The research around phosphatidylserine is focused on helping improve age-related memory function and retention.

Talk to your doctor before supplementing with phosphatidylserine—especially if you are on any medications.

To stopping senior moments,
