Ah, the lure of JUNK FOOD

It tastes oh so good… and it’s super convenient

But deep down – even in moderation – you feel a little bit GUILTY when you indulge.

That’s because you probably know that junk foods (and most fast foods) are nothing but empty calories, excess sugars and carbs, and are full of preservatives…

All of which can put you on the fast track to heart disease, obesity, and type 2 diabetes.

But today I’ve got research that says that’s all just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what junk food can REALLY do to your body!

According to no-nonsense dietary studies, diets high in saturated fats – pretty much ALL junk foods – can significantly increase your risk of OSTEOARTHRITIS.

Osteoarthritis – the “wear-and-tear” arthritis – is the most common arthritis form that attacks your hands, neck, lower back, knees, and even your hip.

High levels of saturated fat can cause the cartilage in your joints to deteriorate faster. This joint deterioration is a hallmark symptom of osteoarthritis.

Studies have found that when you have more saturated fatty acid deposits in your cartilage, it changes your metabolism, weakens your cartilage, making your joints more prone to damage.

And once that happens, your bones and joints lose that much-needed ‘cushioning.’

If that’s not a good enough reason to lay off the junk, I don’t know what is!

Here’s the bottom line…

I’m not here to preach that you shouldn’t touch any junk food. Sometimes life is so busy that we all need to grab something fast and quick.

At the end of the day, it’s all about limiting your consumption of these junk foods.

It’s also good to try shopping in the outer perimeter of your grocery store. This is where you’ll find all of the natural, whole foods like meats, fruits, and vegetables. The inner aisles of your grocery store tend to be loaded with those unnatural junk foods.

To sensible eating,

Sarah Reagan
