Did COVID accidently cause a NEW health crisis?
Remember a couple of years ago when we NEVER thought COVID-19 would go away?
Of course, COVID-19 will always be a “thing” … but the days of social distancing, masking, and vaccine mandates are in our rearview mirror.
But here we are in 2023, and now there’s information that COVID could have “accidentally” created a potential new health crisis.
What is it exactly… and should you be worried?
A study published in Environmental Science & Technology suggests that the rampant, widespread use of disinfectants throughout COVID could be fostering a new health crisis.
According to the study, the excessive use of antimicrobial chemicals are now linked to numerous health problems, including antimicrobial resistance, and even environmental harm.
Now, the study doesn’t suggest that disinfecting and sanitizing was WRONG – but that it was an overhyping of quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs) in home, healthcare, education, and workplace settings.
In layman’s terms, QACs are a broad class of chemicals and the active ingredients in antimicrobials, disinfectants, sanitizers, and surfactants.
(Think hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, cleaning sprays, etc.)
The study determined that we were SO exposed to QACs, that they became counterproductive – and in some cases harmful.
Whereas, more people should have been disinfecting their hands and surfaces with good ol’ soap and water… and even vinegar!
But you remember those days. If something said “kills COVID-19” on the label… we were buying it!
Don’t feel GUILTY… and don’t feel DOOPED…
We did our best to keep things clean and germ-free as best we could, and many lives were likely saved because of it.
But moving forward, keeping clean doesn’t have to be complicated – or risky.
A study published in the journal Physics of Fluids verified something we should already know by now…
20 seconds of vigorous HAND-WASHING is still one of the single BEST ways to dislodge and kill viruses and bacteria!
Never skimp on the hand-washing!
To the power of clean,
