Johns Hopkins researchers find future HOPE for brain cancer?!
Brain cancer is COLD… CALCULATING… and CALLOUS.
It’s the 10th leading cause of DEATH among adults in the U.S….
And the chances of SURVIVAL are sometimes less than 10%… even with aggressive treatments like chemo and radiation.
But thanks to a groundbreaking study out of Johns Hopkins University, the future of brain cancer treatment could change…
Here’s a sneak peek at what some are calling a potential, future cure for the disease… as well as steps you can take TODAY to keep it from spreading.
A gel developed by researchers at Johns Hopkins University could one day change how brain cancer is treated.
That because in animal studies, researchers say it completely stops an aggressive form of brain cancer in mice!
The research team loosely calls it a “hydrogel” – but, according to the team, it’s a potent mix of an anti-cancer drug and an antibody in a solution. Together, they self-assemble into a gel to fill the tiny grooves left after a brain tumor is surgically removed.
According to the research team and their studies, the gel can:
“Reach areas that surgery might miss, and current drugs struggle to access, in order to kill lingering cancer cells and suppress tumor growth.”
These initial studies were done on mice, and more studies will continue to be done to determine its long-term viability. But the initial results are so promising, study leaders are hopeful that one day this could help cure glioblastoma – one of the deadliest and most common brain tumors.
This is all very much preliminary. But in the meantime, you can still take preventive measures to reduce your risk of developing cancer – even the most AGGRESSIVE varieties.
For instance, researchers at the renowned Brigham and Women’s Hospital have discovered that VITAMIN D drops the risk of developing advanced cancers by a jaw-dropping 17%! (You can read about the entire study here.)
This, along with a healthy diet and exercise, are some of the best ways to reduce your cancer risk.
If you do have a history of cancer – or if cancer runs in your family – it’s important to stay on top of your routine doctor’s visits and to be aware of any abnormalities.
