Sleep disorder CRUSHES your memory?
Nearly 70 MILLION Americans suffer from sleep disorders like insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and even narcolepsy.
But there’s one sleep disorder that TRUMPS them all…
And it goes WAY beyond tossing and turning.
In fact, if left untreated, this sleep disorder can CRUSH your precious memories!
But today I’m showing you how to NOT let it get to that devastating point!
Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder that causes breathing to repeatedly stop and start during sleep.
It not only disrupts your precious sleep… it’s also extremely DANGEROUS.
Severe cases of sleep apnea can lead to DEADLY conditions like stroke, heart failure, and even heart attack.
Now more research behind sleep apnea has confirmed that it can DESTROY your memory, too!
According to a study published in the journal Sleep, Alzheimer’s-like amyloid plaques have been found in the brains of people with severe sleep apnea.
Researchers have long suspected that Alzheimer’s and sleep apnea are connected, but they couldn’t fully connect the dots… until now.
This study discovered harmful plaques were found to develop in the same place (the hippocampus) and spread in the same way in the brains of people with obstructive sleep apnea as they do in Alzheimer’s.
And folks with more severe sleep apnea were more likely to have a GREATER plaque-buildup.
But you can rest easy because, even if you’ve already been diagnosed with sleep apnea, there are natural ways to STOP its progression… and lower your risk of brain damage.
The conventional treatment for sleep apnea is wearing a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). But if you wear a CPAP at night, you know how bulky and uncomfortable (and hard-to-clean) they can be.
But researchers honed in on a dietary supplement called yohimbine. It’s a natural approach to stopping sleep apnea – and a more comfortable alternative to the CPAP machine.
In animal studies, yohimbine stimulated the critical neurons that – for folks with sleep apnea – don’t work properly.
Along with yohimbine, there are lifestyle changes you can make to help stop sleep apnea – and one is as easy as adjusting your sleep position.
Studies show that sleeping on your back — called the supine position — can worsen symptoms. But sleeping on the side can help breathing return to normal.
If you suffer from sleep apnea and are currently using a CPAP, be sure to discuss natural treatments with your doctor first.
To a restful body and mind,
Sarah Reagan
