A diabetes “breakthrough” I could have told you about YEARS ago!
Folks, when it comes to treating and OVERCOMING type 2 diabetes, I like to live by one rule:
K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple, Stupid!
You, of course, are NOT stupid – but the headlines around “fixing” type 2 diabetes make it seem like you’ve been living under a rock.
And there’s a new study making headlines that’s being touted as some kind of innovative breakthrough nobody has ever heard of.
I 100% AGREE with the findings…
BUT I’m also here to tell you that this “latest” fix isn’t anything new… but that it’s possibly one of the most effective ways to stop – and even REVERSE – type 2 diabetes.
The headline reads…
“Low-carb diet reverses type 2 diabetes in 51% of participants to new study.”
It’s the outcome of a study recently published in BMJ Nutrition, Prevention & Health (a very reputable source in its own right).
I won’t get into the minutia of the entire study, but here are a few highlights:
- 97% of type 2 diabetes patients who adopted a low-carbohydrate diet experienced IMPROVEMENTS in blood glycemic control.
- 51% of the type 2 diabetes patients achieved REMISSION on the low-carbohydrate diet.
- A low-carbohydrate diet could be a VIABLE non-pharmacological option for achieving good glycemic control and potentially remission in people with type 2 diabetes.
I won’t argue with that!
But, not to toot my own horn… I’ve been aware of this for YEARS.
Look, the fact is that eating a boatload of CARBS – especially the sugar-laden variety found in the Western diet – will do nothing but make your blood sugar SKYROCKET.
And, what most folks can’t wrap their head around is that eating a low-carb, high-protein diet devoid of sugar and junk is the singlehandedly BEST way to stop type 2 diabetes.
Yes, type 2 diabetes CAN be cured naturally!
So, this latest study isn’t really “news” – but it’s sure tried-and-true advice that’s always going to stand the test of time.
If you need a kickstart to eating less carbs without skimping on the taste, give a Paleo lifestyle a shot. Also called the “caveman” diet… you eat meat, eggs, veggies, fruits, and some fats (like avocado and nuts).
If you can kill it or grow it… you can eat it!
