Sunshine’ trick CUTS multiple sclerosis risk 50%?!
Multiple sclerosis (MS) isn’t just a “condition.”
This autoimmune disease causes body-wrecking symptoms from the inside out like…
A loss of vision… the inability to speak… numbness in your limbs… depleted energy levels… even memory issues and pain!
And once MS takes control, you could lose your independence in the blink of an eye… with no cure in sight.
But today I’ve got some good news in the fight against MS…
Research has uncovered that a simple ‘sunshine’ trick may be the key to NATURALLY stopping MS dead in its tracks – by as much at 50%!
A study published in the journal Neurology reports that spending as little as 30 minutes outside in the sunshine on a daily basis may cut risk of MS roughly in half.
The reason?
It turns out that vitamin D – our ‘sunshine vitamin’ – has a protective effect on your body’s neurological system throughout the year, which helps stave off MS.
In fact, the study found that those who spent an average of 30 minutes to an hour outside daily during the previous summer had a 52% lower chance of developing MS.
But the sunshine’s benefits against fighting MS also work year-round.
The study also found that those who averaged between 1-2 hours DAILY outside had an 81% reduced risk of developing MS.
Now, don’t forget that spending TOO MUCH unprotected time in the sun can increase your risk of skin cancer, so it’s important to wear natural sunscreen and keep your skin covered as much as possible – even during these winter months.
Also, getting ample sunshine isn’t always in your control. (After all, we can’t control the weather!)
However, taking a vitamin D supplement is a great way to ensure that you’re getting adequate amounts of the ‘sunshine’ vitamin – even on dreary days.
Vitamin D supplements are found at most grocery stores, pharmacies, and health food stores. As with any supplement, be sure to only take the dosage listed on the product label.
If you have a family history of MS, be sure to talk to your doctor about vitamin D.
To fighting MS,
