Can Intermittent Fasting be LIFESAVING?! (Must-Read)
I’ve never kept intermittent fasting some big secret.
Any why would I?!
Because intermittent fasting isn’t just about shedding those unwanted pounds…
Studies have found that it can even help preserve your memories… and even fight cancer!
And trust me, there’s plenty more advantages out there…
But today I’m sharing another benefit to intermittent fasting.
It not only will make you look good and feel good…
It can even keep you out of the hospital!
According to a study published in the journal Cell Reports, intermittent fasting can help protect older adults from falls and other serious injuries.
How?
It turns out that intermittent fasting can build muscles needed to stay healthy and strong – into old age.
Researchers found through multiple lab studies that ‘time-restricted’ eating (like intermittent fasting) preserves – can ADD – muscle mass… and IMPROVE overall muscle performance.
Study authors noted that this is a breakthrough for the elderly, who are at a higher risk of fall-related injuries.
But with intermittent fasting, you can KEEP the muscles you have, making you LESS susceptible to falls that can lead to serious injury or a stay in the hospital.
Sounds like a pretty good benefit beyond weight loss, doesn’t it?
If you are thinking about trying intermittent fasting, it’s easier than you think – and you don’t have to cut out flavorful foods.
For example, you could eat your first meal of the day at 11 a.m. and your ‘final’ meal (aka dinner) at 6 p.m.
Both meals could easy have a quality source of protein (like salmon), a nutrient-rich vegetable (like spinach or kale), and a satisfying starch (like brown rice or a sweet potato).
This will ensure you’re getting plenty of vitamins and minerals WITHOUT sacrificing taste… or overdoing it on the calories late in the day.
Be sure to have a conversation with your doctor about intermitting fasting before trying it. It can take some getting used to, so it’s a program you may want to ease your way into if you haven’t tried it before.
To staying out of a hospital bed,
Sarah Reagan
