Fatty liver CRAVES this potent green drink
It happens to as many as 1 in 3 Americans…
And it might ALREADY have you in its CLUTCHES.
It could put you in the crosshairs for some UNDESIRABLE health consequences…
Like diabetes and kidney disease, for starters.
That’s why you shouldn’t IGNORE it any longer.
I’m talking about when your liver gets FAT… even if you NEVER drink alcohol.
It’s called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)… and it’s more common than you might think.
Your liver doesn’t get the kind of attention that other organs do… like your heart or your lungs…
But this WORKHORSE organ could sure take a beating… as it FILTERS OUT toxins before they reach your bloodstream.
Friend, you definitely want to pay attention to your liver health… and keep NAFLD far out of arm’s reach.
But if it’s already knocked on your door… and made its way inside… there’s a cheap and simple way to IMPROVE the disease.
In the Far East, the most popular tea looks a little different than ours – because it’s green!
It comes from the same plant as black tea, Camelia sinesis. But its green color is PRESERVED because of the lack of processing and “cooking” that turns naturally green leaves black.
Green tea is known for its MANY health benefits… which can be attributed to the presence of an antioxidant compound called epigallocatechin (or EGCG for short).
You’ve read right here in eAlert how EGCG could help beat back diabetes…
And a new animal study published in The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry… out of Brazil, of all places… shows how it could also help improve NAFLD.
It appears to work by activating a receptor called PPAR-alpha.
Now, we’ve previously shared with you how PPAR-gamma helps regulate glucose metabolism…
But PPAR-alpha is what controls fat metabolism… specifically in the liver.
Of course, it’s best to AVOID processed foods that could send your fat levels into a tailspin…
But this green tea compound could help give you an extra edge against liver disease.
And according to a 2020 animal study out of Penn State, combining green tea extract with exercise worked even BETTER at reducing fat accumulation in the liver.
In fact, that study showed how EGCG-rich green tea extract could REDUCE the severity of NAFLD by 75%!
EGCG is available as a supplement in capsule form, sometimes labeled as “green tea extract.” Just make sure your green tea supplement has been standardized to contain a certain minimum percentage of EGCG.
If you’re worried about the caffeine content, look for one that’s labeled “decaffeinated.”
