‘Bloom of the Black Sea’ MAKING WAVES in cancer research
When you’re battling cancer… EVERYBODY’S got an opinion.
People seem to come out of the woodwork… just to AMBUSH you with horror stories, conspiracy theories, and even quack medicine.
Sure, they MEAN well…
But a cancer diagnosis is OVERWHELMING enough. You don’t need to sort through all that JUNK science!
And there are plenty of unscrupulous companies out there who’d try to sell you cancer “cures” with no real research backing them up.
Friend, I’m not here to waste your time. I’ll always give it to you straight.
Because the best thing anyone could do for you right now is to ARM you with the best information – because that’s EXACTLY what you need in order to make the best decisions about your cancer care.
Today, I’ve got the latest on a cancer breakthrough that’s making waves throughout the scientific community…
And might even give current conventional treatments a run for their money.
Sea daffodil (Pancratium maritimum) grows on the sandy beaches and in the sand dunes of the countries surrounding the Black Sea.
This “maritime” flower looks like a lily… although it’s considered part of the amaryllis family.
And it’s no shrinking violet when it comes to its medicinal powers.
Turns out, all parts of this flowering plant are PACKED with antioxidant compounds…
And in a 2018 in vitro study out of Italy, its extracts SLAMMED THE BRAKES on cancer cells in a lab dish…
Including those from breast cancer… cervical cancer… skin cancer… lung cancer… and prostate cancer.
In the lung cancer test, sea daffodil extracts were even MORE effective than the mainstream chemo drug, vinblastine!
One of the keys to its success may be the presence of the plant chemical (or “alkaloid”) pancratistatin… which appears to help CONVINCE cancer cells to “off” themselves (in a process known as apoptosis).
Even better, pancratistatin appears to target ONLY cancer cells… and leave healthy cells alone.
That’s the “holy grail” of cancer treatments – one that Big Pharma hasn’t been able to get its hands on when it comes to cancer drug development!
The problem is that pancratistatin in its natural state isn’t easy to find in nature.
In addition to the sea daffodil, it’s also found in a cousin — the spider lily (Pancratium littorale, or Hymenocallis littoralis).
But that LIMITED availability means researchers have been looking into ways to manufacture laboratory versions of this compound.
In a 2017 in vitro study out of Canada, a team of researchers found that their synthesized pancratistatin was actually MORE effective against cancer than SEVERAL of the standard chemo drugs…
Including paclitaxel, doxorubicin, gemcitabine, and cisplatin.
Unfortunately, you won’t find sea daffodil OR spider lily extracts in the supplement aisle… or even on pharmacy shelves…
At least not just yet.
And as is the case with many plants that contain alkaloids that are TOXIC to cancer cells… using them the wrong way… or from the wrong source… could be extremely DANGEROUS.
But this is one ingredient I’ll be keeping my eye on – as well as the ENTIRE CLASS of plant-based chemicals known as Amaryllidaceae alkaloids.
If you’re looking to PUNCH UP your fight against cancer with some flower power, you could try… jasmine tea , which has shown protective effects against esophageal and gastric cancers
vinca alkaloids from periwinkle, or
plumbago, known as chitrak in Ayurveda.
