You might not think that your heart has ANYTHING to do with your gut…

But too many folks experience gut complications after going under the knife for a heart operation!

I’m talking about open heart surgeryaortic valve replacement… or a mitral valve repair/replacement.

What happens to some of those heart patients is a SHUTDOWN of the digestive system

One that leads to a BUILD-UP of food material in the intestines… or even a PAINFUL and DANGEROUS blockage.

It’s a temporary condition… but if it happens to you, it could EXTEND your hospital stay

Or even CHANGE how you eat moving forward!

As scary as that sounds, it’s actually one of the most COMMON complications after heart surgery.

Fortunately, there’s a trick to keeping this gut condition at arm’s length – and you won’t believe how simple (and cheap!) it is.

This 1 thing could make a BIG difference

The gut complication I just mentioned is called “postoperative ileus”…

But that’s just a fancy way of saying that surgery could put a DAMPER on your bowel function… and it could take a while for it to return to normal.

A recent study, however, reveals the simple trick to SLASHING the incidence of this gut complications by nearly 5X.

All it takes is chewing a SINGLE piece of gum after being taken off a ventilator.

It turns out that when you chew gum, your gut REVS UP in the same way it does when you eat food!

Scientists call this “sham feeding” – or a way to trick your digestive system into gearing up for food intake, even when no food is actually ingested.

When you’re in post-op, it might not be safe to eat solid food yet…

But leaving your gut in a “lull” could lead to digestive discomfort, including symptoms like…

  • cramps
  • bloating
  • nausea/vomiting
  • constipation
  • and more.

It could also SLOW your recovery… and even KEEP you in the hospital for longer than you’d planned!

But chewing a piece of gum appears to get the muscle contractions in your gut back up and running…

Which helps RESTORE bowel function

And gets your gut ready to ELIMINATE food when you’re actually ready to eat it again.

Friend, heart surgery can be scary enough on its own.

You shouldn’t have to worry about what happens AFTER you wake up… and whether you’ll ever be able to eat the foods you love again.

The science behind this “chewing gum secret” is SO simple… it makes me wonder why no one tested it a long time ago!

If you’re slated for heart surgery, talk to your doc about chewing gum once it’s safe to do so after you come out of the OR.

Choose a chew that’s sugar-free and made with xylitol… which could also help beat back dry mouth after surgery.

Just make sure you DON’T swallow the gum, as that could “gum up” your digestive system, too!

To getting home from surgery as soon as possible,
