Fortunately, there’s a bedtime snack that can help LULL you to sleep… so you can wake up feeling REFRESHED!

It’s not warm milk.

In fact, most Americans had never HEARD of this before the 1960s!

But in the mid-1970s, exporters from New Zealand campaigned to bring it to other countries around the world – including this one.

Here’s how this “Down Under” trick can turn the tide in your sleep habits.

Kiwi for Zzzzzzs

The bright green flesh of kiwi fruit (Actinidia deliciosa) isn’t just a refreshing summer treat.

It can also help ELIMINATE poop problems

And help you bid a final FAREWELL to sleep troubles!

According to a 2011 study out of Taiwan, eating kiwi an hour before bed nightly helped subjects with sleep disturbances…

  • fall asleep FASTER
  • stay asleep LONGER, and
  • sleep BETTER.

These weren’t just results REPORTED by the study subjects… and it WASN’T just their imagination.

Because these sleep improvements were also detected by sleep monitoring gadgets that the subjects wore!

Now, one theory is that kiwi’s potent antioxidant action may help BANISH oxidative stress… which has been associated with disturbed sleep.

And supporting healthy digestion could certainly help you get some rest that’s UNINTERRUPTED.

But there’s even MORE to this story.

Kiwi also contains a surprising amount of serotonin – a chemical that’s closely tied to the “turkey tranquilizer” known as tryptophan and the “sleep hormone,” melatonin.

Serotonin levels tend to be low in insomniacs… who not only have trouble FALLING asleep quickly… but also sleeping DEEPLY enough.

A little serotonin boost, however, could help encourage more time spent in the REM phase of sleep.

Now, that study was pretty small…

But there’s no harm in trying this fruit trick for yourself.

Simply indulge in fresh, organic kiwi. You can eat the whole fruit – fiber-rich fuzzy peel and all – but most folks like to scoop out the green innards with a spoon.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine… which refers to kiwi fruit as “Mi Hou Tao“… you can also drink kiwi juice to reap its benefits.

These fruits are perfectly safe to eat… UNLESS you have a kiwi allergy.

If you’re not sure whether you’re allergic, try a little bit first as a test and look for signs like an itchy throat, swelling, trouble swallowing, vomiting, or hives.
