You KNOW that broccoli is good for you. Your parents probably BEGGED you to eat it!

But you may still have a hard time coming around to actually ENJOYING those little green stalks and florets.

Well, here’s something that might help change your mind…

Because broccoli isn’t just any ol’ veggie.

It’s a STANDOUT among healthy produce!

Like other “cruciferous” vegetables, broccoli contains sulfur compounds that have shown anti-cancer action.

But that’s not all…

Because there’s something EXTRA special about broccoli… something that makes it a SUPERSTAR among its cruciferous cousins.

It can help COMBAT leaky gut – or a gut barrier that’s experienced increased permeability.

Here’s how.

Toxic waste spill

Leaky gut is just as gnarly as it sounds.

Your gut literally LEAKS waste out into your bloodstream… creating a TOXIC environment.

It’s associated with excess inflammation… and possibly even chronic disease.

It can INTERFERE with nutrient absorption… open the door to INFECTION… and SABOTAGE immune defenses.

Here’s where broccoli steps in.

When your body digests broccoli, the metabolic process creates a compound called indolocarbazole (ICZ).

According to a 2017 animal study out of Penn State, ICZ zeroes in on a receptor that’s CRUCIAL to maintaining gut barrier function.

But there’s a trick to getting this mechanism right…

Because activating that receptor TOO MUCH can also be toxic!

That’s why the study’s authors recommend using food… like broccoli… instead of powerful drugs.

Now, in this study, they fed their subjects the human equivalent of 3.5 cups of broccoli per day – and that’s A LOT of broccoli, even if you LOVE it!

Fortunately, they’ve come up with an alternative…

Brussels sprouts!

These cruciferous “cabbages” contain 3X the amount of compounds that get converted into ICZ (a.k.a. glucosinolates)…

Which means you could eat 1/3 the portion size as compared to broccoli.

You could also try supplementing with broccoli extract… or a cruciferous blend.

To plugging the holes in your gut,

Sarah Reagan

P.S. Broccoli is also the source of an anti-aging oil – one that you can use topically and DON’T have to eat. Here’s how it works.

Meet the Health Sciences Institute

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
