‘Longevity berry’ the key to EXTENDING lifespan?
Once you reach a certain age, you stop focusing on how many years you’ve already lived…
And start counting down the years you might have left.
None of us will live forever. But friend, I hope you live as long… as healthily… and as happily as possible.
That’s why I’m excited today to share with you a secret to living LONGER… and maybe even BETTER.
The science behind this longevity trick is still new… with just a few hundred studies under researchers’ belts…
But I’m telling you, it’s ROCK SOLID.
Imagine being able to flip a switch – one that could make the difference between premature aging (or even death) and practically endless youthfulness.
Well, it could be possible…
Because to UNLOCK longevity, you’ve just got to access your body’s anti-aging “control panel.”
And I’ve got just the thing to help you do that.
Extend lifespan… in 3 ways
The polyphenol called pterostilbene may seem IMPOSSIBLE to pronounce…
But this anti-aging antioxidant comes from an incredibly familiar source.
Blueberries!
Now, you may have already heard how these dark-colored berries could help BOOST immunity… brain function… blood sugar control… and even blood pressure health…
But as it turns out, blueberries could also help you live longer – thanks in no small part to its content of pterostilbene.
One of the main ways this substance works is by OPTIMIZING your body’s ability to ELIMINATE cellular “junk.”
You see, a buildup of waste products in your cells can ACCELERATE aging.
All that garbage PROMOTES oxidative stress… SABOTAGES your ability to produce cellular energy (a.k.a. mitochondrial dysfunction)… and LEADS to degenerative diseases, which can shorten lifespan.
But that’s not all pterostilbene can do.
It’s a triple threat when it comes to ACTIVATING molecular pathways involved in aging…
Including ones you’ve read about right here in eAlert, like…
- AMPK, the “master regulator” of metabolism
- sirtuins like SIRT1, which helps repair DNA and extends telomere length, and
- mTOR, which regulates how cells grow and multiply, produce energy, and survive.
Triggering the AMPK pathway has been linked to CURBING several diseases that affect older folks… like diabetes, Alzheimer’s, hypertension, and more.
And you need to ENHANCE the expression of sirtuins in order to properly “turn on” AMPK.
But pterostilbene actually does the OPPOSITE with mTOR. Since the overactive expression of this pathway is linked to cancer, this anti-aging molecule helps SUPPRESS it.
In all of these ways I just mentioned, pterostilbene MIMICS anti-aging approaches to eating, like fasting (a.k.a. calorie restriction).
Sound familiar?
That’s because pterostilbene works much like another anti-aging compound I’ve shared with you, called resveratrol.
In fact, pterostilbene and resveratrol are molecularly similar… and are often found together in nature, like in grapes.
Even better, when they work together… the synergistic whole is greater than the sum of its parts!
Because each of these compounds helps the other one work BETTER.
The only problem?
You’d have to eat bushel upon bushel of berries to get enough pterostilbene to significantly reap its life-extending benefits.
Fortunately, you can find pterostilbene in supplement form… which should offer MAXIMIZED bioavailability.
It may be labeled “trans-pterostilbene”… but that’s the same thing as plain ol’ pterostilbene.
Because it’s a fat-soluble nutrient, you’ll want to take your capsules at mealtime.
To your good longevity,
Melissa Young
