But it’s probably MOST renowned for its anti-inflammatory powers, which can benefit your bones and joints.

And now, there’s even MORE evidence emerging in support of how turmeric… and its active compound, curcumin… can support joint health and relieve joint discomfort.

Specifically, I’m talking about the “wear and tear” form of arthritis, osteoarthritis.

In a recent clinical trial, Australian researchers found that taking a turmeric extract supplement twice a day for 12 weeks helped knee OA patients report significantly less pain, compared to placebo.

The turmeric extract was also associated with improvements in stiffness and physical function.

Now, this isn’t the first time that a study has revealed the benefits of turmeric or curcumin for worn-out joints.

Last year, researchers out of India found curcumin to be JUST AS EFFECTIVE for knee OA as the prescription drug diclofenac

But WITHOUT the stomach troubles associated with the NSAID.

In fact, another 2019 study found that consuming curcumin supplements helped knee OA patients EASE OFF of their pharmaceutical drug use!

You can find turmeric powder in the spice aisle or at a specialty spice market.

If you’d like to try incorporating turmeric into your cooking, be sure to combine it with healthy fats or oils to improve your body’s ability to absorb it.

Black pepper can also improve its absorption… which is why some turmeric/curcumin supplements also include the compound piperine.

Look for a supplement in capsule form from a maker you trust at your local health food store or online.

In the Indian study I mentioned earlier, participants took 500 mg of curcumin, three times daily, for 28 days.

But their pain started becoming LESS severe within the first 14 days.
