In a 2015 in vitro study out of Brazil, purified pfaffosides were shown to INDUCE liver cancer cell cycle arrest and FORCE liver cancer cells to “off” themselves (a.k.a. apoptosis).

Other in vitro studies have shown promising activity against other cancer cell lines, including breast cancer.
