BREAKTHROUGH spice science sends blood sugar woes PACKING
Once type 2 diabetes shows up at your door, everything changes.
You’ve got to WATCH every single bite…
You may have to monitor your blood sugar MULTIPLE times a day…
And don’t forget about all those pills your doc wants you to take.
Managing type 2 diabetes is a full-time job. And your boss is a TASKMASTER.
There’s no “time off”… or “vacation days”… or even “coffee breaks”!
Fortunately, there’s something that could help make blood sugar control a little easier… and not so much of a CHORE.
It’s a time-tested natural ingredient that’s packing a powerful SURPRISE.
You could even say it’s one of the most UNDERESTIMATED pantry staples out there!
Pungent spice packs a punch
From the Greeks and Romans… to practitioners of traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine…
They’ve all used clove (Syzygium aromaticum) as medicine since ancient times.
But you’re probably more familiar with it for its flavor and aroma… which make its flower buds a popular and pungent kitchen spice.
Here’s something you may have NEVER heard about clove buds.
Not only are they the part of the clove plant that have the highest content of antioxidants…
But its ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity)… a measure of powerful it is in scavenging free radicals… is SKY HIGH!
At over 314,000, the USDA ranks it as the most powerful antioxidant of all the spices… fruits… AND vegetables!
Now, scientists have figured out how to take a powdered form of dried clove buds and MAXIMIZE their polyphenol content.
What they’ve created is called polyphenolic clove extract, or PCE for short…
And it could be the “new frontier” for PERFECT blood sugar control.
In a 2019 pilot study out of India, participants’ postprandial glucose levels started to dip significantly after just 12 days of taking PCE. (“Postprandial” is just a fancy word for “after eating a meal.”)
But that’s not all…
Because even the study subjects’ blood sugar numbers BEFORE meals (or “preprandial” glucose levels) went down…
It just took a little longer (24 days, to be exact).
Now, this study recruited both “healthy” and “prediabetic” volunteers… so it doesn’t tell us much about what PCE can do for folks with a full-blown type 2 diabetes diagnosis.
But what it revealed about the MECHANISM behind PCE is promising to diabetics.
It appears as though PCE affects the way your body METABOLIZES the food you eat… STORES glucose… and USES it for energy rather than letting it flow willy-nilly through your bloodstream.
And that’s a good sign that it could benefit folks with type 2 as well.
Plus, when you look at the individual polyphenolic components of clove buds…
The science makes PERFECT sense.
I’m talking about…
- gallic acid, which has been shown to improve glucose metabolism and beat back blood sugar spikes
- ellagic acid, which not only LOWERS blood sugar numbers but also BALANCES inflammation and IMPROVES insulin resistance, and
- eugenol, which reduced HbA1c in an in vivo animal study and practically NORMALIZED the values of relevant diabetic biomarkers.
Better yet – PCE is even SAFER than other medicinal forms of clove, like clove oil.
In a 2016 study, Indian researchers found ZERO toxic effects of PCE, even at high doses. (Higher than you or I would ever take!)
You can find a water-soluble extract of unopened clove buds… which have been de-flavored and de-scented… in patented form called Clovinol.
Look for it on the ingredient list of clove supplements from a maker you trust… or as a component of blood sugar-supporting formulas.
A researched dosage is 100-250 mg, which you would typically take before eating to keep spiking blood sugar at bay BEFORE it elevates.
