Occasional acid reflux happens to the best of us…

Especially after eating the “wrong” thing… at the “wrong” time of day.

Why is it that everything that tastes SO GOOD is supposedly SO BAD for us??

It’s not fair.

But you don’t have to GIVE UP all your favorite foods… or stop enjoying eating altogether…

Just to escape the scourge of a meal that might “go against you.”

Because there’s a “secret weaponagainst heartburn that’s used widely in Japan… but is practically UNHEARD OF in this country!

It doesn’t BLOCK the stomach acid you NEED, like some of those reflux drugs do.

It works in a different way – one that could even IMPROVE your quality of life.

Here’s how.

An 8-herb formula for the ages

You may have never heard of rikkunshito

But it first appeared in Japanese texts in the 1500s… and it’s been used in the traditional Japanese medicinal practice called Kampo for AGES.

In fact, it’s one of the most commonly used herbal medicines for acid reflux.

But it’s not just ONE herb.

Like Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kampo takes a holistic approach to health… and therefore harnesses the COMBINED powers of several herbs.

In rikkunshito, you’ll find no less than 8 herbs, all currently listed in Japan’s official medical guidebook…

  1. licorice root
  2. ginger root
  3. ginseng
  4. black atractylodes (Atractylodes lancea, a.k.a. “cang zu” in TCM)
  5. jujube (Ziziphus jujuba)
  6. Satsuma orange peel (Citrus unshiu, a.k.a. Aurantii Nobilis Pericarpium)
  7. hoelenk.a. “China root” a.k.a. “poria mushroom” (Poria sclerotium, a.k.a. “fu ling” in TCM), and
  8. Pinellia ternata

Some of these 8 ingredients will look familiar to you… and I’ve shared some of them with you right here in eAlert.

But I GUARANTEE you haven’t tried ALL of these – certainly not together in one powerhouse formula.

Here’s the Japanese secret you’ve been missing out on…

A 2010 animal study showed that this traditional therapy helped STOP acid from ERODING the mucus membranes of the esophagus.

Other research has shown that rikkunshito doesn’t JUST work on your “food tube”… but ALSO on your stomach.

Thanks to active compounds like hesperidin (a flavonoid from citrus)… glycyrrhizin (from licorice)… and L-arginine… rikkunshito helps move the food you eat through your digestive system at a healthy pace.

If your gastric motility is SLUGGISH… your meals can FESTER in your belly… and trigger an overproduction of acid.

But rikkunshito helps stimulate the smooth muscle of your esophagus and your stomach to squeeze food DOWN… and OUT… quickly and efficiently.

As a result, in a study on real people published in 2017, rikkunshito helped relieve ALL of the symptoms that the researchers measured, which included:

  • heartburn
  • gastric discomfort, and
  • abdominal pain.

It’s no surprise, then, that the study participants also reported improvements to quality of life.

Those included how they felt when they woke up early in the morning… performed their daily activities… and even ate their meals.

If you’ve experienced reflux yourself, you know how DISSATISFYING it can be to have to avoid some of your FAVORITE foods

Simply because of how they might make your acid issues FLARE UP.

And you might find yourself eating less… maybe not enough food to even fill you up… just to try to beat back excess acid!

But the folks in that study I just mentioned reported LESS DISSATISFACTION with those impacts on their daily lives.

And they reported an improved feeling of “fullness,” too.

Could it do the same for you?

It’s possible – it’s even worked on seniors participating in clinical studies.

You might have better luck finding rikkunshito under its Chinese name, “Liu-Jun-Zi-Tang” (LJZT) or “Six Gentlemen Formula” – a nod to 6 of the 8 total ingredients.

Look online for a supplement from a quality maker… or consult a certified Chinese herbalist who can get it compounded for you.

An integrative doc can also help you figure out the right combination of some of the easier-to-find ingredients… like ginger and licorice… to see if those might work on their own.
