Treasured Egyptian cure BURIES cough and sore throat in 4 simple ways

You’ve got a throat that’s as sore as the day is long…  you’re coughing… and your doc tells you to stay at home and “wait it out.”

Sure, easy for him to say!

But signs of an upper respiratory infection like those can keep you up at night…

And the thing you need MOST to beat back a “bug” is a good night’s sleep!

Don’t take any chances… and don’t just SUFFER through your symptoms.

Because there’s an easy and affordable way to get some relief – and believe it or not, it comes straight out of ancient Egypt.

It’s a root that’s so naturally sweet, you might mistake it for candy.

But don’t underestimate the HEALING power of this natural cough suppressant!

A ‘sweet root’ for a sore throat

Ancient Egyptians thought licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) could cure EVERYTHING.

Now, NO herb is a cure-all…

But licorice root has proven to be more useful than some others. For instance, Traditional Chinese Medicine uses it more than any other herb.

And even the American mainstream has begun to warm up to it!

You may know it for its ability to soothe your digestive tract… but you don’t need an ulcer to reap the benefits of this ancient remedy.

Its active components – mostly glycyrrhizic acid – work in 4 main ways:

  1. RELAX muscle toease coughing and loosen a tight chest
  2. MOISTEN dryness to beat back that irritating “tickle”
  3. CLEAR clogged airways by helping your body secrete new, thin mucus (a.k.a. decongestant/expectorant)
  4. COOL an inflamed throat by inhibiting the COX-2 inflammatory marker, reducing redness, swelling, and discomfort.

Licorice can even soothe the sore throat that you could get after being intubated.

That “breathing tube” could cause AGONIZING cases of postoperative sore throat (a.k.a. POST).

The name of the condition doesn’t really do it justice…

Because with POST, you could ALSO suffer from drynesstrouble swallowingcoughing… and hoarseness.

To reduce the symptoms, the mainstream wants you to gargle with KETAMINE.

But a 2016 study out of Egypt found that licorice is EQUALLY as effective as a powerful SEDATIVE in reducing the severity of… or even staving off… POST.

Research shows that gargling with licorice for 5 minutes immediately before general anesthesia SLASHED the occurrence of POST in HALF!

There’s an even easier way…

Because in a 2013 study , Indian researchers found that simply sucking on a low-dose licorice lozenge for 30 minutes before getting knocked out and intubated can achieve the same result.

Now, we’re not talking about raiding the candy dish or breaking open a bag of Twizzlers or Red Vines here. None of those actually contain ANY licorice.

On the other hand, any commercial tea that purports its benefits for the respiratory system (including “Throat Coat”) probably contains licorice root. Check the ingredients to be sure.

Look for cough syrups and drops that contain licorice as well, as the herb needs to make contact with your throat in order to soothe it.

And while most docs will suggest deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) for gastric issues, whole licorice is recommended for breathing problems.

Don’t, however, make it a daily routine. Too much licorice can be a bad thing, so keep your use of it under 4 weeks… and then take a break.

If you feel your symptoms worsen… or develop other symptoms like a fever or chest pain… don’t brush it off. Call your doc back!

To coating your throat,

Melissa Young
