When you were young, your heart took a licking… and kept on ticking.
But as the stresses of life pile up over the years, your ticker can eventually stop working properly.
It can even stop working ALTOGETHER.
With congestive heart failure, it can feel like the wind has been knocked out of you… and your ticker can’t take even the slightest exertion.
Fortunately, there’s a way to get your heart ticking the way it’s supposed to – even in the WORST-CASE SCENARIO.
That is, when it’s failed you… and SEEMS like it might NEVER come back.
It comes from a prickly bush – and when you use it the right way, it can seem like EVERYTHING is coming up roses.
At least, when it comes to your heart… and the length AND quality of your life!
5 ways to overcoming FAILURE
On the streets of Beijing, you’ll see a candied version of hawthorn berries sold on bamboo skewers in celebration of Chinese New Year, as its red color symbolizes good luck.
Traditional Chinese physicians have been using hawthorn – without the added sugar, of course – for over two thousand years as medicine.
But it’s not just the berries that exhibit cardiotonic properties… but also the flowers and leaves of the hawthorn plant (in fact, more so!).
The most researched species of hawthorn is Crataegus oxyacantha… but there are HUNDREDS of members of the Crataegus genus.
Part of the rose family, hawthorn has been used as a heart tonic for HUNDREDS of years in Europe, particularly in Germany.
We’ve been using it here in North America since around the turn of the 19th century.
And yet nearly EVERYTHING you’ll read from the mainstream will urge you NOT to give up your heart drugs… and NOT to trust this time-tested, natural remedy.
Here’s why they’re wrong.
Especially if you’ve been diagnosed with congestive heart failure.
In one study, German researchers found that a homeopathic preparation of hawthorn was just as effective in heart failure patients as pharmaceutical approaches like ACE inhibitor drugs and diuretics!
Study upon study has shown that consuming hawthorn can turn the condition around in 5 major ways:
- IMPROVE heart function, including the amount of blood the heart pumps out during contractions
- DECREASE heart palpitations
- EXTEND exercise tolerance
- REDUCE shortness of breath and fatigue, and
- LESSEN dependence on traditional pharmaceutical medications.
But most importantly, it can help make it less likely you’ll DIE suddenly from heart-related causes.
And patients with congestive heart failure who take hawthorn just FEEL better!
You can eat the berries raw…
But for a more concentrated source of the active compounds, drink a tea brewed from the berries, flowers, and leaves… or take hawthorn supplements, widely available at health food stores.
Typically, doses range from 250 to 500 mg, taken three times daily.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, hawthorn – known as “Shan Zha” – is often combined with other herbs like Dan Shen to improve cardiovascular health.
