BARRICADE yourself from stress with this mind-blowing ‘bug trick’
If there’s anything that can stress us out… it’s our health.
A single complaint can set off a SNOWBALL EFFECT…
And the stress can make you feel sicker than whatever was wrong in the first place!
That’s why the key to fighting stress isn’t just stepping away from the stressful circumstance.
Your body has to learn to become IMMUNE to it!
Fortunately, you can train your body… and mind… to withstand whatever’s thrown your way.
You may have already heard of the gut-brain axis – so you know how the beneficial bacteria in your GI tract can influence your mood.
But there’s another kind of microbiome you need to consider, on top of the gut flora in your body.
And the first place you should look… is your BACKYARD!
The stress-buster that’s as old as dirt
Mycobacterium vaccae is a type of bacteria found in nature.
It’s both COMMON and HARMLESS.
In fact, this bug is downright BENEFICIAL!
But you won’t find it on grocery store shelves in your favorite probiotic drink.
Because the place that M. vaccae calls home is… in the dirt beneath our feet!
Soil, in fact, hosts MANY health-promoting microbes.
M. vaccae specifically can benefit your mental health by elevating your mood.
But this isn’t just some quick-fix “happy bug.”
We know that this bacterium works on SEVERAL underlying mechanisms that contribute to stress responses, including:
- EASING anxiety
- STRENGTHENING your resilience to stressful factors
- BEATING BACK inflammation, and
- BOOSTING your immunity.
In fact, scientists have observed that M. vaccae can act much like the neurotransmitter serotonin – which is the exact same target as many antidepressant drugs.
It works so well that in one study, it lessened the emotional toll taken on patients diagnosed with lung cancer… and actually helped IMPROVE their reports on quality of life.
And because depression could be linked to an overactive immune response that creates excess inflammation…
M. vaccae appears to bethe PERFECT antidote!
Now, University of Colorado at Boulder researchers have FINALLY discovered how M. vaccae works.
The key may be in a kind of “special sauce” ingredient — a unique fatty acid that scientists have named “10(Z)-hexadecenoic acid.”
You see, when M. vaccae gets inside our bodies, our immune cells gobble it up… just like they would any type of bacteria.
Once that happens, the bugs release these fatty acids, which put the inflammatory response on LOCKDOWN.
And its effects are LONG-LASTING.
Pre-treating with M. vaccae might even provide a kind of STRESS VACCINE… stopping the response BEFORE it starts!
The researchers say this is just the tip of the iceberg…
And that M. vaccae is just one of MILLIONS of soil-based bacterial strains that may prove beneficial to humans.
This is just the first one we know about.
So… how do you get it?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t (yet) come in capsule form.
Technically, it was first isolated in Austria from cowpies. The word “vaccae” in Latin means “the cows,” who most certainly got it from the dirt surrounding the grass they grazed.
Don’t worry — you can stay FAR away from dung!
But note that eating dirt is actually common practice in several countries around the world. And it has been… FOR AGES.
Fortunately, there’s another option.
But when you’re outside… whether it’s taking a hike, hitting the links, or weeding the garden… you could inhale some of these microbes.
You just have to make sure you’re actually on healthy, pesticide-free soil… and not concrete or asphalt!
Better yet, grow organic vegetables and herbs in your own backyard… and eat them straight from the garden.
