When you’ve got type 2 diabetes, controlling your blood sugar is a CONSTANT struggle.
You have to remain vigilant 24/7…
And if you don’t, the slightest misstep can derail your management of the disease.
But the occasional carb that sneaks onto your plate doesn’t have to spell DISASTER for your diabetes.
Because there’s a way to NEUTRALIZE starches… and BANISH sugar from your bloodstream.
It’s an ancient Chinese herb… with a SECRET WEAPON for supercharging its anti-diabetic potency.
Shut the door on skyrocketing sugar
In China, there’s one tree that’s most associated with wealth and good fortune…
And it’s all because of the silk trade.
If you’ve ever felt Chinese silk, you know it’s one of the finest textiles in all the world.
Other countries have tried to replicate China’s success with the fabric… and FAILED.
And for that, the Chinese have the white mulberry tree (Morus alba) to thank.
You see, the white mulberry feeds the silkworms that produce those precious silk fibers.
In fact, it’s the ONLY thing those caterpillars will eat.
And when these little critters nibble away at white mulberry leaves, they MIRACULOUSLY transform them.
According to a 2001 study out of Japan, silkworms feeding on mulberry leaves more than DOUBLED the concentration of a special antioxidant called 1-Deoxynojirimycin, or DNJ for short.
And DNJ is a diabetes-destroying SUPERHERO.
Considered an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, it slows your body’s process of breaking carbs down into sugar…
And that keeps too much sugar from going into your blood.
In a 2008 study on rats, mulberry leaf extract ERASED sugar spikes… and made diabetes DISAPPEAR!
In another study, just 1 gram of the powdered leaf three times a day decreased fasting blood sugar levels by 27%over the course of four weeks.
Compare that to 5 mg daily of the diabetes medicine glyburide (a.k.a. Glynase, Micronase)… which only reduced blood sugar by a measly 8%.
But white mulberry doesn’t come with any of the side effects of diabetes meds, which can range from muscle pain and headaches to blood sugar that dips too low.
Now, research has shown that those leaves contain SEVERAL blood sugar-lowering compounds…
But the most important one for PERFECT blood sugar control is DNJ.
Unfortunately, we can’t necessarily rely on the dietary habits of silkworms to guarantee we’re getting enough DNJ from mulberry leaves.
And as it turns out, we don’t have to.
A 2007 study out of Japan discovered that the highest amount of DNJ can be found in the young mulberry leaves harvested in the summertime from the top part of the branches.
Fortunately, you don’t need an enormous amount of DNJ to make your diabetes disappear…
All you need is just a spot of tea!
In 2012, researchers out of Japan and Thailand found that postprandial sugar spikes were suppressed by just one normal-sized cup (less than 8 ounces) of DNJ-enriched mulberry tea.
Mulberry leaf is available in supplement form (sometimes referred to as Folium Mori).
Just make sure DNJ is specifically listed in the ingredients (and at what concentration).
There’s one caveat…
Don’t count on this natural extract blocking an INFINITE number of carbs. You’ll still want to follow a diet of foods with a low glycemic index…
And lay off the carbs whenever you can.
