Do you need a special flu shot if you’re over 65?
Just in time for Christmas, the CDC has an important message for you!
This special agent of Big Pharma has issued its annual holiday press release to all Americans (especially those over 65!), warning that this year’s flu is coming early and will hit hard.
In fact, it could be the worst flu season ever, and you don’t want to be sick during the holidays, do you?
You would think by this point that the CDC would realize we’ve seen this exact same warning again and again every single year. Sometimes, I think all they do is change the date!
And this season, that flu jab is expected to be even less effective than it usually is — some experts are saying that its success rate will tank at around 10 percent.
But that doesn’t stop CDC officials, who will do their best to scare you silly until you roll up your sleeve.
So, in case you may be about to do just that, here are some facts about those shots that are even scarier.
And they tell us in no uncertain terms that whatever tiny bit of protection the influenza vaccine may offer you just isn’t worth the risk.
Flu-shot fables
You’ve got to hand it to the folks at the CDC for trying to sell us on taking a flu shot that they admit is a dud. Why, it’s so ineffective this year that public health officials are now warning doctors to expect some patients who received one to still come down with the flu!
But here’s an important truth behind the CDC’s yearly vaccine campaign: Officials there know full well that it doesn’t work, but they also know why it doesn’t.
Last month, I told you how news had recently leaked out that the way most of these vaccines are produced — in chicken eggs — means that the virus being incubated there will “adapt to growing in that environment,” which also means that it must mutate.
And by doing so, the protection it offers against the most common flu virus in circulation, called H3N2, is practically worthless. In fact, the scientists from the Scripps Research Institute who released that information are warning that this year’s shot already contains a “specific mutation.”
But when health officials act confused every year as to why the vaccine consistently doesn’t seem to perform very well, it’s just the tip of the iceberg of flu-shot fables. Because, like a magician, they have something up every sleeve!
Here are two examples:
“If you’re over 65, it’s urgent you get a special flu shot ‘designed specifically’ for seniors.”
It’s entirely possible that the flu vaccines produced especially for older Americans are even more dangerous than the others.
Take the Fluzone High-Dose vaccine, which has been linked to side effects that include low platelet counts, enlarged lymph nodes, allergic reactions, and the ever-present danger (in all flu vaccines) of Guillain-Barre syndrome, a crippling condition in which your immune system attacks your nervous system.
Another shot for those with a few extra candles on their cake is the Fluad vaccine. That one contains a special ingredient called an adjuvant that’s supposed to up your immune response. What you won’t be hearing in the ads, however, is that same compound, known as MF59, has been linked to a disabling condition that struck our troops during the first Gulf War, called Gulf War Syndrome.
Or how about this one:
“Having the flu will increase your risk of a heart attack.”
Your doctor might warn you that coming down with the flu will up your odds of suffering a heart attack or stroke.
Actually, the real warning should be that getting a flu shot will increase your chances, not only of a heart attack but of a blood clot. On top of that, it can cause heart-damaging “inflammatory cardiovascular changes.” Those findings came out of the Institute of Cardiology in Rome six years ago!
The best way to stay healthy this flu season it to be kind to your immune system with supplements that will help it to do its job — such as vitamin D, zinc, selenium, olive leaf extract, and a high-quality probiotic.
And the only time you should be rolling up your sleeves is to wash your hands — a long-established, effective way to stay flu-free!
