The idea that statins are perfectly safe to take is similar to the theory that the earth is flat.

Both are just plain wrong.

For decades, Big Pharma and the mainstream have played so many cheap tricks on patients to keep the statins flowing that I’ve lost count.

People have actually been convinced that statins save lives!

But now, a group of world-renowned experts are saying that not only are statin side effects more serious than we’ve been told, but the entire ploy has misled millions into popping these risky drugs for no good reason at all.

‘The cholesterol con’

How did statins become so ingrained in health care that speaking out against them is practically heresy?

Well, for one thing, over the years Big Pharma has attempted to dazzle us with lots of data (often pulled out of a hat) and phrases like “overwhelming body of evidence,” “well-proven” and “long-term safety.”

But a brave, international group of doctors is hoping to bust the statin myth once and for all. They’re saying that we’ve been misled for a very long time. And it’s urgent that we pull the emergency brake where these drugs are concerned. And that we do it now.

Published in the medical journal Prescriber, doctors from the U.S., France, the UK and Ireland have not only concluded that millions are being “overmedicated” with these drugs but also cast doubt on the whole idea that lowering so-called “bad cholesterol” (LDL), will prevent heart disease in the first place.

UK heart specialist Dr. Aseem Malhotra (who participated in this new exposé) calls it the “cholesterol con.”

And Dr. John Abramson from Harvard Medical School said there’s a “lack of association” between high LDL cholesterol and heart disease in seniors, adding that the “conventional cholesterol hypothesis is flawed.”

But perhaps one of the most daring things this group did was to hold up a recent pro-statin study to the light of day and reveal its numerous flaws.

Back in September, research published in the Lancet attempted (once again) to manipulate the data and inflate the benefits of statins while downplaying the side effects. And if you think that sounds like nothing more than Big Pharma’s usual way of “doing business,” you’re absolutely right.

Because those Lancet authors could have come right out of its directory of consultants, having been affiliated with Merck, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca, to name just a few. And the biggest bald-faced lie they put out was to say that any concerns over statin side effects were just “needless fears.”

After putting that research under the microscope, however, Dr. Malhotra and his team found that much of the data used to come to that conclusion had never even been published. Plus that, they observed, the whole idea that statins benefit us by reducing cholesterol was based on nothing more than guesswork.

And if you’re wondering how all the pain and suffering caused by these drugs could be so easily swept aside and dismissed by the mainstream – well, here’s one explanation.

A recent study out the University of California San Diego found that a whopping 65 percent of doctors don’t even bother reporting the side effects their patients tell them statins are causing. And are you ready for the reason why?

They simply don’t believe them!

Look, it’s been proven already that statins can cause severe muscle pain or weakness, liver damage and new-onset diabetes.

And as Dr. Malhotra said, we’ve had decades of “misinformation on cholesterol” along with the “gross exaggeration of statin benefits.”

So isn’t it about time we tossed this cholesterol con out the window once and for all – before we all end up becoming statistics of the Great Statin Scam?

The Health Sciences Institute (HSI) is an independent organization established in 1998. We’re dedicated to uncovering and researching the most urgent advances in modern underground medicine. Things you WON’T hear about in the mainstream.

Whether they come from a laboratory in Malaysia, a clinic in South America, or a university in Germany, our goal is to bring the treatments that work directly to the people who need them. We alert our Members to exciting breakthroughs in medicine, show them exactly where to go to learn more, and help them understand how they and their families can benefit from these powerful discoveries.
